It's interesting that here you have Obama, who could be on the cusp of making history. However, he might also be in the uncomfortable position of having to defend a strong black vote in his favor, were he to win in South Carolina with an overwhelmingly large portion of the black vote -- because of the race card. Unfortunately, the one thing that might stand in the way of his winning the nomination is his own campaign staff, a rather immature, gullible and knee jerk kind of group, or so it would appear.
IMO, Obama needs to take the helm (of his own destiny). Hopefully, he can see that he's more feared because of what he could do rather than what he has done. His focus might be better spent on assuaging the concerns of white America of which he is a part (by heritage), by spending more time on his original message, which would expose the real Clinton machine. Remember, Hillary has done nothing but "chase" Obama ever since she lost her initial and presumed status as the front runner and "inevitable" nominee. She's her own worst enemy, and ol' Bubba, he's looking more like a hick with a chronic head cold than a former head of state -- so sad, but true.
Between now and Super Tuesday, Barack needs to distance himself from the "Clintons", as in as far away from them as he can get. Ignore them, and make them have to come to (to him) to seek out a challenge (in desperation), because they can't get the kind of visibility and leverage (they need to win) without his responses. The Clinton's may be great manipulators, but manipulation is a tool of those who can't face the facts. |
