... at least so far.

I've felt like I wasted two hours of my life watching the first to episodes of The Wire’s final season.

I got hooked on the Wire about two years ago. I caught an episode, by chance, on HBO on demand. Over the course of the next two nights I watched the entire previous season and caught up on the current season.

I became hook on the first random episode I watched – it was just that compelling; as was every subsequent episode.

I actually looked forward, quite anxiously, to each new installment. I doubt there has been anything else on TV, since Saturday morning cartoons, that I've been so amped about.

But these last two episodes are just a mere shadow of The Wire’s former self. The news room seems to have some potential: I like the editor character. And Marlo is fixin’ to step in it; but overall each story line is just dragging.

They have too many concurrent story lines and are taking too much time with each of them to get you to care about any of them. I keep telling myself I should be more patient, but I know this show could be better.

Yeah, I'll probably watch the remaining episodes like I did with that last similarly weak season of The Sopranos.

Actually, word on the street is that there is a DVD with the first 5 episodes of this season. I may just "skip ahead" to see if it is worth my time... So far things do not look very promising.

I like it.

It's inevitable after 5 seasons that something gets weak (is IT actually weak, or does it just APPEAR to be because we are used to it?)but this is so heads and shoulders above regular tv I just gotta love it.

If you like somethin' strong, how bout if I post some excerpts of the story I had in Chocolate Flava #1--"Selena the Sexual Healer"?

It'll curl yo' toes.
