I have those same 2 books on my list, Crystal. In fact, I started "Blood Colony" but didn't get far because I haven't made up my mind as to whether vampire chronicles are "scary" or just gorey.
"Don''t Ever Tell" is the current selection of my book club.

I wouldn't have thought Due's vampire tale would be gory - we'll see. If you want a non-gory vampire story try Octavia Butler's Fledging. It's more mystery than horror to me but still has the feasting aspect.

Have you read Massey's The Other Brother? It's creepy.

Welll, I just assumed that the vampires would be sucking blood; maybe not.
I haven't started "The Other Brother" yet.

My favorite Due is still, "My Soul to Keep".

Has anybody ever seen her in person? She is almost the exact opposite of what you'd expect from a horror writer. Warm. Friendly. Well dressed.
