REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS (RFP) FOR BOOKSELLERS TO PARTICIPATE IN THE NAACP AUTHOR PAVILION AT THE 2008 99TH ANNUAL CONVENTION IN CINCINNATI, OHIO

Washington, D.C., February 13, 2008- The 2008 Author Pavilion is sponsored by the NAACP and will be held at the NAACP 99th National Convention in Cincinnati, Ohio on July 12th through 17th, 2008.

Notice is hereby given that Professional Book Events (PBE) on behalf of the NAACP will receive proposals for RFP #1001- Official Bookseller for the NAACP Author Pavilion 2008. Preferred Bookstores have:

1. Been in operation for a period of more than 2 years
2. Demonstrated the ability to handle multiple author events
3. A clear plan for partnership in the Regional Marketing of the Author Pavilion
4. Capacity to donate a percentage of book sales to the NAACP organization.

Proposals are due no later than March 15, 2008. Proposals submitted after the due date will not be considered. Vendors accept all risks of late delivery of mailed proposals regardless of fault.

PBE and the NAACP reserve the right to reject any and all submissions and waive irregularities and informalities in the submission and evaluation process. This RFP does not obligate PBE or the NAACP to pay any costs incurred by respondents in the preparation and submission of a proposal. Furthermore the RFP does not obligate PBE or the NAACP to accept or contract for any expressed or implied services.
