New author G. Andi Rhos has written a gripping coming of age novel in “And It Goes Like This...”. The story is about a young woman named Charlotte-Louise Andrews. Charlotte doesn’t actually feel like she fits in. An only child, Charlotte keeps to herself. Her mother is a hard working single parent, which leaves Charlotte easy prey to boys who are willing to shower her with attention. Charlotte’s life changes drastically when she meets Joaquin. Joaquin is street savvy and he immediately takes to Charlotte and she gets caught up into his street life drama.

Joaquin provides Charlotte with the emotional support she craves and initially she thinks that he is everything that she wants in a boyfriend. Things go wrong quick when Charlotte discovers that Joaquin is much more tied to the streets than she imagined and that he is rough drug dealer. Charlotte becomes entangled into Joaquin’s world of sex, lies and crime. “And It Goes Like This…” chronicles three years in the life of Charlotte-Louise Andrews. As you are reading this book you will find yourself wanting Charlotte to come out on top. “And It Goes Like This…” is a novel that you won’t want to stop reading. It’s a great read from a first time author.

I read this book and it held my interest in spite of the fact that it was not targeted to people of my generation.
