Since this seems to be a principal place for random sightings of KB and her various alters, a question: why did she work so hard to get her Wikipedia entry deleted?

After more than a year of wrangling to try and remove any skepticism about her tales, she finally went right to the site's managers and convinced them to delete her article completely.

My guess? It was driving her - oops, I mean Nafisa, who chimed in every once in a while - batsh*t that she couldn't absolutely control the content - which meant that, especially on the article's discussion page, people felt free to point out things like the total lack of any proof that:

- KB speaks Arabic (let alone could write poetry and prose in it);
- there was ever an Arabic-film actress called Naima Kitar (let alone one who appeared in, by various counts, up to 40 movies);
- her African "publisher" Russom Damba exists (except in the same way that, say, Nafisa does);
- she ever had any contact with the SPLA other than some of their leaders in London reading about her fanciful "fatwa" stories (let alone that anyone, anywhere, has ever called her "Queen Kola"...

And the list could go on and on, without even hitting the whole OBL/sex slave/mistress madness.

Since Ms. Boof has more than her shares of friends and enemies here, I'm hoping someone can enlighten me...maybe she'll even let us know why she's avoiding such a good opportunity to spread the word (and is about the only published author I ever heard of trying to squash a Wiki article - her pal Derrick Bell sure has one!)...

And by the way - anybody who's demonstrably not Kola willing to tell us more about her historic Schomburg appearance? Or her Jena6 speech? Still no real world coverage of either one...

Veeeery interesting. I continue to be curious as to why Tonya, who supposedly attended kola's Schomberg event, and who is apparently a friend and fan of hers will not set the record straight. Also, the noticeable lack of pictures capturing scenes from this affair and her appearance at the Jena demonstrations is very uncharacteristic of kola who has never hesitated to splash herself all over the board in the past.

Yeah, the whole Schomburg business is what made me go look over the KB/Wiki business. I'm willing to believe that some kind of event might have happened - but it certainly wasn't any kind of official "Schomburg" event, and you have to wonder what kind of publicist Ms. Nafisa is that there aren't any decent pictures - especially of things like the author being carried in triumph out of the hall (as opposed to a blurry shot of a distinctly schlumpy woman sitting in a chair).

In general, I tend to agree with the Wiki poster who was going on the assumption that KB is a delustionist/self-promoter who's probably never been closer to North Africa than Washington DC, but I would be happy and fascinated by anything - the slightest scrap - that backs up any of her stories (any scrap, that is, that doesn't trace directly back to her/Door of Kush/Nafisa Goma, etc. - and I don't mean Photoshopped snapshots captioned "from a Moroccan film" or claims that some Italian prince can back the whole thing up!)

What's wrong, Alex Douglass--you don't have anywhere to post "hate propoganda" against Kola Boof now that her lawyers handled Wikipedia?

Kola Boof's attorneys are among the first to have "Wikipedia" remove a page. It's no small feat.

Ms. Boof's attorneys handled Wikipedia just as they will handle ANYONE who out of hate and malice invent LIES about the author, including her place of birth, which is SUDAN and which is why Wikipedia was FORCED to save themselves some big money.

Kola Boof has ordered that no photos of her be taken for "publicity" at the Schomburg Event. Only "fans" and the Schomburg Center itself took photos, and you can contact the Schomburg's Curator James Murray or its Events Coordinator Damond Haynes to find out how Ms. Boof's event went.

Kola Boof asked Troy Johnson to film her singing performance at the Schomburg Center, but he didn't come to the event. Another version was filmed at a club in Los Angeles, and both were live performances and both proved that Kola Boof can sing powerfully and that she could master Arabic better than the song's "Arab expert" translator!

The New York Times was the first, in 2002, to post a "movie still" from a Kola Boof movie. That fact can be easily checked by reading their own caption as to where they got the movie still. Was the New York Times, an enemy of Kola, lying, as well when they captioned the Arabic Film Information beneath the photo in THEIR article?

If you want to know what Kola Boof did at
the JENA 6 demonstrations, then just ask Al Sharpton. He adored Kola.

Last up :-)---for those who'd like to know why
NOAM CHOMSKY, Derrick Bell and Chinua Achebe are predicting that Kola Boof's novel "The Sexy Part of the Bible" will be nominated for the National Book Award, you only have to read this month's issue of the British Magazine, "AFRICAN WRITING":

http://www.african-writing.com/boof.htm

Thanks to ZANE, there will also be a major
announcement about the "new publisher" of Kola's pop novel "VIRGINS IN THE BEEHIVE" and that announcement will be coming by January/February.

Kola Boof has decided to place the book with a "major" WHITE house--to demonstrate that she CAN whenever she wants to.

"HATERS" and their malicious LIES only drive Ms. Boof (and her fans) to climb higher.

I would think that the average literary publicist could spell "propaganda," but that's neither here nor there.

I've got no interest in hate or lies - I'm just interested in verifiable truth, and that's where all of KB's stories fall short.

I could easily be convinced - but not by someone telling me I ought to be convinced just 'cause she says so.

And until I see some independent confirmation of things like the existence of Nafisa Goma, Cornel Chesney, Russom Damba; of the career of "Naima Kitar"; of KB's ability to write literary, or even barely literate, Arabic (which would be pretty astonishing in someone who was adopted in the U.S. as a young child)...

Well, I'm just going to keep wondering how much is true, and how much is fantasy.

And as for going to all that trouble to flood the net with press releases in advance of the Schomburg reading and then not have any photos - that sounds about as a sensible as not wanting a Wikipedia article....
