Hey wassup,my name is Edwin.I'm new to the boards.I've been writing poetry for a few years now.I've decided to showcase my skills on a larger level by entering the literary world of self-publishing.The name of the book is call "The Write House.I decided that since we have a White House on 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, why not name my book The Write House on 1600 Poetry Avenue by the Commander-In-Writing which is me.

At the beginning of the book,I dedicate it to Raymond Broadnax. He was very inspirational in me doing this poetry book.If it wasn't for him, then my dreams of publishing a book may not come true.He is not only a friend, but he has been my childhood barber for 15 years now(I'm 25).One day I started showing him my poetry and he was so impress with my writing skills that he asked me to help him out with his poems.I mean he's good at writing poetry, but he told me that I was head and shoulders above the rest. For him to give me support and confidence in what I do means a lot to me and so in return I dedicate the book to him.

Here is an excerpt from my book. The name of the poem is entitled "Higher Ups,Lower Downs".

This world has a corrupt government.
They don't care about people of color or the lower class.
Leaving us stranded with no end in sight or no direction to go.
As if we were pieces of broken glass.
Right now they are laughing at us with their wicked grins.
They don't care whether we die or live.
People of my race don't deserve this type of treatment.
Something's gotta give.
The government treat us like toilet paper.
They use all of us to wipe their backsides with.
Flushing each and every one of us down the toilet bowl.
Everything that happens to us is no myth.
It is a sad reality that we have already encountered.
I always ask myself the same question by saying why.
We are not wild and sadistic animals.
We are hard working human beings who deserve a piece of the American Pie.
