My book club just finished reading Casanegra? I am trying to come up with some discussion questions for our group. Anyone have any ideas? |

Have people talk about what a movie adaptation would look like. Who would play the main characters? How likely is it that the female lead (the reporter) would look like she is described in the book, especially with regard to her hair style? What scene would be the hardest to pull off? Considering Hollywood's aversion to the depiction of love scenes between Black men and Black women, how would those scenes fare?
If your club members are familiar with the authors' other works, you all might discuss how the collaboration might have worked (or not). Was anyone's "voice" more prevalent in places? What might each author have contributed to the collaboration?
Have fun! I enjoyed that book and am looking forward to the next installment. Let us know how the discussion turned out.

Honestly, if I'm going my job a google search should lead Chris back to AALBC.com any way. I just googled "Casanegra" and AALBC.com was the 10th site listed. Not too bad. |
