14th Annual Author Award Weekend June 1-5, 2006 Go On Girl Book Club will host our AAW in Tempe, Arizona at the Wyndham Buttes Resort [2000 Westcourt Way * Tempe, Arizona 85282 * 602-225-9000]. We will honor and Award our New Author of the Year: Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie for "Purple Hibiscus" and our Author of the Year: Diane McKinney-Whetstone for "Leaving Cecil Street". We will also bestow a Lifetime Achievement Award on Ossie Davis (posthumously) and Ruby Dee and a Special Recognition Award to Terry McMillan.  Girls Quest invites parents, children and teachers to join us for our Children’s Cultural Book Fair for an afternoon of fun in celebration of Black History Month.
