Slammin’ on Main October 25th
If you miss it this week, you’ll want to kick your own ass!

This week The Slam is Co-sponsored by CYPHER (Conscious Youth Pushing Hip Hop in Every Region) and the ladies of Alpha Kappa Alpha.

Ibn Spears was the winner of our first ever official Poetry Slam Inc. sanctioned slam!
Ibn will be the first of many to earn a $50 gift certificate or studio time and an invitation to join SlamCats, the University’s spoken word poetry team.

In addition to our featured poet, Slammin’ on Main will feature a live band, CCM students BBG. BBG are classically trained musicians with an unbelievable talent for impromptu composing and arranging. BBG can rip any set, from classical jazz, to gospel, to Dr. Dre riffs. BBG will be available to any poet, emcee, lyricist-- anyone interested in stepping to the mic with llive musical accompaniment.

Don’t forget to check out Slammin’ on Main’s Open Mic, every Tuesday, 7pm-10pm. This week’s featured artists are yours truly-- Black Budda’fly and Society’s Tongue, a traveling Spoken Word poetry troupe based in here in Cincinnati.

If you got fire, spit it at The Slam, Tuesday, October 25, 7pm-10pm at Catskeller Game Room and Sports Lounge in Tangeman University Center.
