Spring is in Bloom and BAIP is on the Move with our annual Career Fair and Book Expo America.

The Center for Black Literature at Medgar Evers College joins Black Americans In Publishing to Present BAIP’s Careers in Publishing Fair.

This year Black Americans In Publishing is pleased to announce that the Center for Black Literature at Medgar Evers College in Brooklyn, New York will join BAIP in partnership to present our annual Careers in Publishing Fair on Friday, May 6, 2005.

Under the direction of Dr. Brenda Greene, the Center for Black Literature is home to the National Black Writers Conference, an event that author, Walter Mosley, referred to as one of the most important black literary events in the world.

We need your support to aggressively help us to identify and inform qualified candidates for job placement in career positions specific to the publishing industry. We also want to encourage human resource recruiters from publishing companies to come out and interview candidates. We want to spread the word about employment and training-- internships (both paid and unpaid), full and part time positions, consultant work, etc. Our Careers In Publishing Fair has also been strongly supported by the Association of American Publishers.

Vice President, Adaobi Obi Tulton, is the event coordinator for Careers in Publishing Fair. If you are a human resource professional and wish to participate in this event, please contact Adaobi at vicepresident@baip.org for registration details. If you are genuinely interested in employment in this field of infinite possibility, please email your full name and affiliation (ie: college student, include name of college) to Adaobi at vicepresident@baip.org. The fair which will include panel discussions will be held on the campus of Medgar Evers College located at 1650 Bedford Avenue. Further details on this event will follow shortly.
