Saw Diana Ross on American Idol (AI) a few evenings ago. She was coaching the 12 AL finalists to sing one of her famed sings.
(Most of those foks butchered Ross’ songs.)
And she looked pretty good. Kinda svelte for her age. Still rocking that intergalactic hairjob.
I must say that Ross came off quite well on AI. She appeared to actually enjoy what she was doing. Seem to genuinely care about the contestants. And in just a couple hours times, she gave some great advice about how to sing, about how ‘sell’ a song, perform on stage that a LOT of other would-be entertainers might benefit from.
It was great seeing Diana Ross appear to be such a nice and generous person. Over the years, we've been led to believe she was just this selfish, opportunistic BOSSY woman. Yet, at least on AI, she actually appeared very warm, gracious and grateful for the experience.
Ross can't really sing anymore. Hell. How many 60 year olds can sing as they did when they're 30-something? Still. You can definitely tell true entertainers from mofos who are just up on a stage looking around for something to do.
Diana Ross is a great ENTERTAINER!!!
PS: One of the 12 finalists Stephanie Edwards (Who appear to have a little Beyonce in her system.) sung the slow intro of Love Hangover but did NOT sing the great disco portion of the song. My wife and I were like...WTF. Hell. We thought were about to get our disco ON!!! |
