The situation in Iraq is surreal. Billions of dollars are being pored into financing this future war, while here at home the veterans hospitals are in a state of deterioration, bogged down in bureacracy, even as the Army bills its soldiers for gear that has been issued to them for which they can't account, most of which has been destroyed in combat. And yet - more and more reports from this hell hole continue to convey the messsage that the troops over there believe America should not leave Iraq, that it should stay and fight the bad guys, and not desert the Iraqis in spite of how these wimps seem to be unwilling to defend themselves. This Catch-22 leaves Democratic war critics in a bind when it comes to bringing the troops back; damned if they do an damned if they don't. Dubya should be dubbed "Pandora" because he really opened up a box of woes when he ordered the invasion of Iraq.

I know for a fact the vets are not lying about medical care. I had a bad foot pain, that I talked about in here awhile ago and may have told how when I went to the VA hopping like a rabbit because I couldnt put one iota of pressure on my foot not even a toe without pain (like 40 needles on a sharp knife) and the clerk at the desk I hopped down a hallway to see tells me, "you need to make an appointment". I took one look at her, hopped closed to the desk and said "does it LOOK like I can wait forn an appointment. I need help NOW. I cant walk. My foot hurts..NOW". She sent me to see someone and it turned out to be a bad nerve that I took B6 for but its ridiculous what they do to you at times. Now to be fair, I have also recieved good service most times but you have to fight for your rights MOST of the time.

This will not stop until the troops themselves mutiny.

The Democrats will do nothing. The Republicans are stupid. And the people at the top are getting rich.

You do have to speak up and make demands at veterans hospitals. My husband got good treatment at Hines VA hosptial in Illinois but it was a struggle and if hadn't been that his primary physician took a liking to him, things would've been more difficult.
The mistreatment of returning Iraq war vets is really a travesty.

Our priorities are horribly askew and I'm sick of this whole fiasco. It breaks my heart every time I see another soldier killed or wounded. I'm tired of worrying about my people in Iraq. With all the money that's been wasted in Iraq we could have rebuilt New Orleans a hundred times over.

The military hospital facilities that are used to treat our soldiers and veterans have long since been in disarray, this is nothing new, but it's a national disgrace that the soldiers who are fighting this war aren't receiving proper treatment and accommodations when they return home.

The conditions at Walter Reed Army Medical Center are inexcusable, especially since that is where POTUS receives his medical care. It's atrocious, it's embarrassing and it makes POTUS look like a complete jackass. How can he not take care of his soldiers? They should be his first priority.

This hospital shit needs to get fixed NOW! And our soldiers need to come home. TODAY!

There's really no good strategy for them. If they leave, the Yankee loses to the brown folks and he looks like a clown. If they stay, the Yankee loses to the brown folks. Not a good position to be in when you're surrounded by Black and brown folks--worldwide--that hate your guts. And now that he’s at the COMPLETE whim of the Chinese economy/Asian markets…he’s at the yella brotha’s mercy as well. They're screwed all the way around.

Yep, it's disgusting. My grandfather was in the military, my father was in the military and I was in the military. But it stops right here. I am so disgusted with the direction and mismanagement of the military by a self righteous gang of sickening flag waving hypocrites in the White House and the DOD, if I had a son or daughter who was considering joining the military, I would object and talk them out of it. I have some very specific and definitive reasons for doing so. And no, I won't numb you with boredom by listing them. Let it suffice to say I thought I would never, ever in my life, think this way.

I cannot accurately express my total anguish, disappointment and revulsion at the direction this current White House administration has taken the military. The damage, both physically and psychologically to our military personnel, is greater than any of you could ever imagine. I talk directly to Navy Corpsman and Marine Iraq vets constantly about what is going on over there. IT'S WORSE THAN YOU IMAGINE!!! Yet the lies, cover ups, stonewalling, omissions, manipulation and massaging of the facts goes unabated. And to learn of the inexcusable gross negligence and criminal treatment of our crippled and wounded vets is just the tip of the iceberg.
