i have to say that after seeing the NAACP awards, im very proud (not that i wasn't before) of our people.

even though our people are despised, hated, maligned by the "world".

we are still BEAUTIFUL, HEALTHY, AND AMAZING.

im sure some people will say, "well you are looking at the elite of "black america", but the fact is (with the exception of traci ross, the daughter of a white man) none of the people featured on this show were born into fame or fortune.

most of the people,on this show started as your average "everyday black folks".

yey despite our enemies hatred for us, 400 years of rape, robbery, castigation, and murder-

our people STILL are beautiful, and STILL shine.

the nations (those races who are not a part of us) can speak ill of us, attempt to malign us, but the evidence of just how special we are as a people is clear and evident, for the world to see.

our people are special.

and im not just speaking of those on the NAACP award show.

as a nation (our people in north, south, and central america, and other parts of the world) we are unique and beautiful.

the reason we are so hated by the other nations is because they know in their hearts that we are beautiful and superior.

i like seeing our people positive and looking good.

by the way-

raven simone is VERY HEALTHY!!!!!!

boy did she look good tonight!

the girl from "akeelah and the bee" (whos last name is palmer) is UTTERLY BEAUTIFUL!!!!!

at first didn't realize it was her.

then i said to myself, "my god-is she beautiful".

i thought bill cosby (although deserving of the praise he got) went on, and on, and on, and on, too much.

the speech by BONO was cool.

did anyone notice when chris tucker said, bono's done so much, and he ain't even black.

bono was saying, YES I AM?

did anyone see this?

i thought it wsas cool that prince was there, although his speech was a bit strange.

but what about prince is not strange (i mean strange in a unique way).

prince is one of a kind.

quincey jones looked old!

im sure other poster have their thoughts about the award show, so i hope you will give them.

but overall, i enjoy seeing our people in their beautiful state.

oh yeah, kimberly elise looked AMAZING!!!!!!!!

You know what is interesting Lil_ze is how you constantly contradict yourself. You say you love Black ppl but yet you are quick to call any women that has dark-skin and you deem "unattractive" Black and ugly.

The fact that you use words like "Black and ugly" together lets me know right there that you deem "Black" skin and "Black" skinned people as "ugly". So how can you say you love "Black" ppl.

Or do you only like "Black" ppl that are not "too Black".

And how do you see Black ppl as superior when you deem Black skin as inferior??

You are full of contradictions my brotha!!

there are no contridictions on my part.

i think you see what you want to see, when it comes to my posts.

i have NEVER once said anyting about someone being "too black".

my saying someone is ugly is NEVER based on their skin being "too dark".

if i say someone is ugly, its because i think they are UGLY.

it has ZERO to do with being "too dark".

im not sure i have ever used the phrase "black and ugly" on this board.

when have i ever said i deem "black skin" as inferior?

i just never have.

just because i think alek (ugly) wek and india. arie are ugly, does that somehow mean i think of "black skin" as being inferior?

i don't think so.

im not "quick" to call "any" black woman with dark skin unattractive.

thats just not true.

if i think someone is ugly, its because i think thet are ugly.

skin color has nothing to do with it.

it is YOU (serenasailor) who seems to always be focused on the skin shade of BLACK PEOPLE.

my understanding that our nation is superior has nothing to do with our skin tone.

our people have many different shades of skin.

nothing i have EVER wrote on this board could indicate that i see black skin as inferior.

also i don't know what you mean by "black people that are not too black"?

our people don't look ONE way.

our people who are lighter, are no less black than any of our other people.

actually now that i think about it, i did say-

"alek wek looks life she fell off of the planet black and ugly".

i stand by this.

alek (ugly) wek is black (as hell), and she is ugly (as hell).

but me saying this does not mean i deen "black skin" as inferior.
