Since we're dealing with rumors, the latest rumor is that Jay-Z and Beyonce have not broken up and, puleeze, where is the proof that Hova is 48 years old! These two entrepreneurs have parlayed the profits from their musical endeavors into multi-million dollar corporations just like any good capitalist would do in a capitalistic country. Jay-Z also has established a foundation that funnels money back into the black community. |

maybe i was exaggerrating abit, but jay-z is an "old head".
anyone here in nyc, who has followed hip-hop from its beginning knows that jay-z is a rapper who started in the biz markie, big daddy kane era.
he was rapping in like 1992 and he was in his mid/late 20's then.
im sure someone could attempt to pull up some birthdate off the web to prove jay-z's age, but believe me ive met guys from marcy projects where jay-z is from, and they have told me that jay-z is older than he says.
jay-z's been in the rap game for a LONG time. and he didn't start when he was a teenager.
jay-z is in his early or mid 40's.
this is why dipset (if you follow hiphop) diss him about his age.

It's actually funny I was reading TMZ.com and they were showing some pics with Beyonce, Jay-Z, Gwynth Paltrow, and her husband. They were all partying together.
What I think happened was that Jay-Z was using Bey and he now thinks he doesn't have to ride her "coattails" anymore and he can have a successful career on his own. With the help of his White A-list buddies like Gwynth Paltrow and her husband of course. Thats why he never wanted to get to serious with Bey in the first place.
I think he tried to "ride Rosario Dawson's coattails" as well. And once she realized what he was doing she kicked his "tired ass" to the curb. Thats when he found Beyonce.
He and P-Dummy kill me. They try to drum up so much publicity for themselves by "running up under" these White A-list celebs. But what they don't realize is that there aren't to many A-list celebs (White or Black) who are going to risk there reputations and careers for a buffoonish "Black rapper". |

It's actually quite pathetic Jay-Z and P-Dummy's careers ended in the mid-to-late 90's. And everybody can see it but them.
It's almost like they are the ones dancing at the party long after the music stopped playing and everyone else went home. |

All you're doing is speculating, Serenasailor. What about Beyonce is so repulsive that Jay-Z wouldn't really desire her. At least he doesn't have to worry about her being a gold digger. Jay-Z's last album did quite well and got decent reviews, and he didn't get to become multi-millionaire by being "stupid".
Diddy is like Paris Hilton; he's famous for being famous, and a movie he's going to be appearing in is supposed to start shooting soon. It's hard enough to maintain longevity in show business without having people trying to write you off just because they don't like you. |

Diddy isn't famous for being famous. Back in the early 90s he produced hit singles for Mary J. Blige, TLC and Jodeci (the remixes), and then discovered the late Notorious BIG. So, he actually earned his fame through his work--unlike Paris Hilton. |

IMO it's ego more than anything that keeps Jay-Z and P-Diddy recording. If they were to never cut another cd again, they're each worth around 300-500 million. They've made their fortunes, they're household names, they head record labels and their artists are making money for them while they sleep ... what more do they want?
