SHERMAN OAKS, February 16, 2007 - Britney Spears is back in the U.S., and she's sporting a brand new look.
Spears was photographed at the valley tattoo shop "Body and Soul" in Sherman Oaks, getting a tattoo reportedly of a pair of red and pink lips on her wrist. But the biggest change to the pop singer's style? She shaved her head bald.
Spears could be seen inside the tattoo parlor with her head fully exposed, but as she left the shop she was led by her bodyguard straight to a waiting SUV. Spears had her head covered with a hooded sweatshirt to hide her new noggin.
The sidewalk outside the shop was filled with fans, onlookers and paparazzi. Some fans that were interviewed after Spears departed declared the new look less than flattering.

I saw the beautician being interviewed on the news. She said that when Britney asked her to shave her head, she refused and tried to talk her out of it by asking her if she was having a bad day and that she'd probably feel differently tomorrow. The beautician then held a brief conversation with a bodyguard, and when she turned back around, Britney had taken the razor and was doing it herself.
I also heard that Britney had been crying for several minutes prior to going into the salon. The beautician said Britney had braids and extensions so . . .
My conclusion is that maybe Britney had a headache from the braids being too tight and extensions or she was just tired of having all the extensions and glue on her head and that's why she just shaved the whole mess off.
I've never had extensions but aren't they uncomfortable???

That's a possibility. But the beautician has done another different interview (I think it's different because it's longer than what I saw earlier) and she says what I wrote above - that she thought Britney's braids were too tight and that she may have gotten tired of the extensions and wanted everything off.
I've had sculptured nails before and after a few days they drive me nuts and I have to take them off, so I can relate to that feeling.

Some white girls tend to have very fine, limp and thin hair, so they wear extensions to make it look fuller. Or certain styles are too glamorous to achieve with their real hair no matter how long it may be.

When shown in profile, Brit's bald head was extreeeemely long, which centuries ago was considered a sign of aristocracy and beauty. Who'd have thought ol Britney with her classically high forehead could be descended from royalty.
