Nobody goes to the radio to get their news...only rednecks do. You can tell this was written by a Black conservative. Chris, I'm surprised at you, hustler! What we desperately need is our own cable station like CNN. But they'd have to stay mindful of the fact that Blacks aren't all the same; and they'd have to treat this with the utmost respect--or else--WW3/Rocky 12 up in that mutha!!

Here you go Chris:

Blacks Are Not A One Size Fits All

posted January 22, 2007

Blacks are not a one size fits all culture. We are just as diverse within as any culture, people or ethnic group. We do not all think alike, fall into step with someone just because he or she is of the same skin tone and considered a leader by some. Social status, standing, size of ones bank account or house do not impress us. We are far more impressed with the social consciousness of an individual, regardless of color, and how that individual relates to people on all levels, more so than his or her wealth or social standing in a community or even his or her skin tone.

Most are not impressed with first black this/that. We already know that some of those FIRSTS will turn on and do a number on their own at first opportunity. We, at times, get suspicious and nervous of fellow blacks placed in positions historically used to further oppress, torment and abuse us. Historically, we're aware those abuses and torments have too often remained the same or worsen when one of our own have been placed in charge. So there's no consolation there, either. Far too many from within have exploited the problems and issues of our people for their own selfish gains and to guarantee a place for themselves at the table.

It's futile and a waste of time and money to believe any one person can go to any one black person to determine how all black people think and feel. There is no one fellow black person or even leader who can define or speak for who we all are or how we all think at any given time and on any given subject.

It's suspect that some seem to have been paid to appear on certain talk radios in an attempt to influence or discredit fellow blacks. All I can say is save your money. If there's something you wish to know go to the person one on one and ask him or her. You know, the old fashioned way of doing things? It still works.

I believe it was the late black poet and Air Force Veteran, Henry Dumas, who said, "They failed to ask me my name and called me Negro." We are but a people, like any other people, who just so happened to have been lumped together under like circumstances, sometimes tragic ones at that; who just so happen to be of the same race according to America's standards of placing people into little square, round, triangle slots. Beyond skin tone and sometimes like tragic experiences, there's not much more in common between many of us.
