51% of Women Are Now Living Without Spouse
By SAM ROBERTS
January 16, 2007

For what experts say is probably the first time, more American women are living without a husband than with one, according to a New York Times analysis of census results.

In 2005, 51 percent of women said they were living without a spouse, up from 35 percent in 1950 and 49 percent in 2000.

Coupled with the fact that in 2005 married couples became a minority of all American households for the first time, the trend could ultimately shape social and workplace policies, including the ways government and employers distribute benefits.

Several factors are driving the statistical shift. At one end of the age spectrum, women are marrying later or living with unmarried partners more often and for longer periods. At the other end, women are living longer as widows and, after a divorce, are more likely than men to delay remarriage, sometimes delighting in their newfound freedom.

In addition, marriage rates among black women remain low. Only about 30 percent of black women are living with a spouse, according to the Census Bureau, compared with about 49 percent of Hispanic women, 55 percent of non-Hispanic white women and more than 60 percent of Asian women.

In a relatively small number of cases, the living arrangement is temporary, because the husbands are working out of town, are in the military or are institutionalized. But while most women eventually marry, the larger trend is unmistakable.

“This is yet another of the inexorable signs that there is no going back to a world where we can assume that marriage is the main institution that organizes people’s lives,” said Prof. Stephanie Coontz, director of public education for the Council on Contemporary Families, a nonprofit research group. “Most of these women will marry, or have married. But on average, Americans now spend half their adult lives outside marriage.”

Professor Coontz said this was probably unprecedented with the possible exception of major wartime mobilizations and when black couples were separated during slavery.

William H. Frey, a demographer with the Brookings Institution, a research group in Washington, described the shift as “a clear tipping point, reflecting the culmination of post-1960 trends associated with greater independence and more flexible lifestyles for women.”

“For better or worse, women are less dependent on men or the institution of marriage,” Dr. Frey said. “Younger women understand this better, and are preparing to live longer parts of their lives alone or with nonmarried partners. For many older boomer and senior women, the institution of marriage did not hold the promise they might have hoped for, growing up in an ‘Ozzie and Harriet’ era.”

Emily Zuzik, a 32-year-old musician and model who lives in the East Village of Manhattan, said she was not surprised by the trend.

“A lot of my friends are divorced or single or living alone,” Ms. Zuzik said. “I know a lot of people in their 30s who have roommates.”

Ms. Zuzik has lived with a boyfriend twice, once in California where the couple registered as domestic partners to qualify for his health insurance plan. “I don’t plan to live with anyone else again until I am married,” she said, “and I may opt to keep a place of my own even then.”

Linda Barth, a 56-year-old magazine editor in Houston who has never married, said, “I used to divide my women friends into single friends and married friends. Now that doesn’t seem to be an issue.”

Sheila Jamison, who also lives in the East Village and works for a media company, is 45 and single. She says her family believes she would have had a better chance of finding a husband had she attended a historically black college instead of Duke.

“Considering all the weddings I attended in the ’80s that have ended so very, very badly, I consider myself straight up lucky,” Ms. Jamison said. “I have not sworn off marriage, but if I do wed, it will be to have a companion with whom I can travel and play parlor games in my old age.”

Carol Crenshaw, 57, of Roswell, Ga., was divorced in 2005 after 33 years and says she is in no hurry to marry again.

“I’m in a place in my life where I’m comfortable,” said Ms. Crenshaw, who has two grown sons. “I can do what I want, when I want, with whom I want. I was a wife and a mother. I don’t feel like I need to do that again.”

Similarly, Shelley Fidler, 59, a public policy adviser at a law firm, has sworn off marriage. She moved from rural Virginia to the vibrant Adams Morgan neighborhood of Washington, D.C., when her 30-year marriage ended.

“The benefits were completely unforeseen for me,” Ms. Fidler said, “the free time, the amount of time I get to spend with friends, the time I have alone, which I value tremendously, the flexibility in terms of work, travel and cultural events.”

Among the more than 117 million women over the age of 15, according to the marital status category in the Census Bureau’s latest American Community Survey, 63 million are married. Of those, 3.1 million are legally separated and 2.4 million said their husbands were not living at home for one reason or another.

That brings the number of American women actually living with a spouse to 57.5 million, compared with the 59.9 million who are single or whose husbands were not living at home when the survey was taken in 2005.

Some of those situations, which the census identifies as “spouse absent” and “other,” are temporary, and, of course, even some people who describe themselves as separated eventually reunite with their spouses.

Over all, a larger share of men are married and living with their spouse — about 53 percent compared with 49 percent among women.

“Since women continue to outlive men, they have reached the nonmarital tipping point — more nonmarried than married,” Dr. Frey said. “This suggests that most girls growing up today can look forward to spending more of their lives outside of a traditional marriage.”

Pamela J. Smock, a researcher at the University of Michigan Population Studies Center, agreed, saying that “changing patterns of courtship, marriage, and that we are living longer lives all play a role.”

“Men also remarry more quickly than women after a divorce,” Ms. Smock added, “and both are increasingly likely to cohabit rather than remarry after a divorce.”

The proportion of married people, especially among younger age groups, has been declining for decades. Between 1950 and 2000, the share of women 15-to-24 who were married plummeted to 16 percent, from 42 percent. Among 25-to-34-year-olds, the proportion dropped to 58 percent, from 82 percent.

“Although we can help people ‘do’ marriage better, it is simply delusional to construct social policy or make personal life decisions on the basis that you can count on people spending most of their adult lives in marriage,” said Professor Coontz, the author of “Marriage, a History: How Love Conquered Marriage.”

Besse Gardner, 24, said she and her boyfriend met as college freshmen and started living together last April “for all the wrong reasons” — they found a great apartment on the beach in Los Angeles.

“We do not see living together as an end or even for the rest of our lives — it’s just fun right now,” Ms. Gardner said. “My roommate is someone I’d be thrilled to marry one day, but it just doesn’t make sense right now.”

Ms. Crenshaw said that some of the women in her support group for divorced women were miserable, but that she was surprised how happy she was to be single again.

“That’s not how I grew up,” she said. “That’s not how society thinks. It’s a marriage culture.”

Elissa B. Terris, 59, of Marietta, Ga., divorced in 2005 after being married for 34 years and raising a daughter, who is now an adult.

“A gentleman asked me to marry him and I said no,” she recalled. “I told him, ‘I’m just beginning to fly again, I’m just beginning to be me. Don’t take that away.’ ”

“Marriage kind of aged me because there weren’t options,” Ms. Terris said. “There was only one way to go. Now I have choices. One night I slept on the other side of the bed, and I thought, I like this side.”

She said she was returning to college to get a master’s degree (her former husband “didn’t want me to do that because I was more educated than he was”), had taken photography classes and was auditioning for a play.

“Once you go through something you think will kill you and it doesn’t,” she said, “every day is like a present.”

I would certainly never wed again. My long marriage was a good habit but now I'm immune to that matrimonial feel-good drug and I am starting to appreciate not having to be beholden to anyone but myself.

There's an subtle, manbashing, bent to this article. The TRUTH is that men of today are no more interested in being coupled than the chicks are. In fact, you take the p*$$y out of the deal, and MANY men could live pretty chick-free.

Unless there are no kids involved, foks these days would be better off all by their lonesome.

This article was more about marriage-bashing than about male-bashing. It was about the advantages of the single life.

NO ONE is getting married these days. It's not merely a choice of women, because men usually do the proposing [of marriage]. It's a dying institution, and by the looks of it, it's dying the fastest in black communities. Booooyyyy I feel the traditional sista who wants a husband, 2.4 kids and a nice house with a picket fence...

Male bashing. Marriage bashing. Tomato, TomAto... same thing. Marriage was made to benefit the male...

What to do for dick? Hmmm.

Men will SURELY give it up whenEVER you want it and when you don't. Dick is everywhere. Tell them you just want to f*ck. Many MARRIED men are down for such a set-up. (They are some nasty motha fuckas.) Most men would LOVE such a set-up. When you are tired of them, there's no hard feelings.

You can get with the young blue collar types that can screw like champs or the rich fucks who like to bring their puss with them to exotic places. Hey, why not?

I can't see how any sane woman would want to be married to these losers. Why have one when you can have so many flavors, (big and BIGGER) sizes, textures, viewpoints...etc. Life is that MUCH more enjoyable, so much to learn and experience... Just play it safe.

Ladies, let's get tested and make sure we're protected, and enjoy ourselves! We can enjoy this life to the fullest without all the bullshit men ALWAYS bring. I'm SO happy that women are catching on! I only hope we will start adopting children who need the love and nurturing we are so VERY capable of giving.

When men smarten up about what's going on, I predict the follwwing will happen:
* Widespread legalization of prostitution
* Increased use of condoms (male & female) & vasectomies
* More men obtaining primary custody rights
* More women being sued and pursued for child support
* Men will be allowed to opt out of parenting unwanted children (if women should have unilateral right to have give birth or abort, men should have the option to avoid parenting an unwanted kid)

Put me down for the latter.

Marriage is about much more than sex.

If you're with the other person only as long as they're good looking, only as long as the sex is good, only as long as gifts keep coming....then keep your own home and don't get any joint banks accounts.

Marriage is about finding someone who stimulates and fulfills you spiritually, emotionally, and mentally; someone you must speak to everyday about your spiritual and emotional well-being; someone whose input in your life has a positive effect on your life; someone you would be with even after they're too old to have sex with, too old to look good, too blind to know whether or not you look good, and too old to go spend whatever money they have; someone you would love to raise children with, but you'd be with them even if they couldn't have children; someone who feels mutually for you.

If any dick or pussy will do for the month until something else comes along; if any wallet will do until a fatter wallet comes along; if any good looking person will do until a better looking person comes along.....then by all means remain roommates.

I've been engaged a couple of times before I married. With one guy...the sex was SPECTACULAR, but he wasn't on a spiritual path that was similar to my own and I couldn't see myself having children with him. Another guy had money to burn and was on his way to owning a restaurant (he now owns two), but again, I couldn't see myself having chldren with him due to his superficiality. They were good guys...until someone better came along, which is why I didn't marry them.

And consider also, with prostitution and women willing to have children with men without marriage, and with more women in this generation than the last being stay at home mothers, why are men still asking women to marry them (and some women asking men)? They know when they've found that spiritual link...

Well, I'm rambling now.......

I think men and women are still marrying for fantasies that seldom were achievable in the past and are almost wholly IMPOSSIBLE now.

That IS a lot of the problem....marrying fantasies. But, at least for me, spiritual path (not religion) is a big thing, as well as whether someone leans more on the spiritual side verses material side.

If I'm not on the same page with someone spiritually, all of the money or sex in the world isn't going to make me want to spend more than six months with him before I get bored. If all he has going for him is a big dick....I can find one anywhere. If all he has is a lot of money and he buys a lot of gifts, I can squeeze as much out as I feel I want before moving on to the next dude.

That's why these fantasies don't work in marriages: how can sex be the basis for a marriage...when you can get it anywhere? How can money be the basis to stay married to someone....if that person isn't the richest in the world or if you've already taken most of it?

Yeah, I think I'll marry a yogi.

FANTASY FULFILLED!!!!!

Yogis are well known for following ancient texts...including the KAMA SUTRA. And many (but not all) of them later leave all of their money to their wives and children to become ascetics.

LOL...maybe you can have it all!

I think this is all a result of the "cult of selfishness" that a rich, jaded and decadent society produces.

We're all like paper cups to one another.

I used to think that I wouldn't like "marriage", but to my shock--I became EXTREMELY happy when I accidentally stumbled into being a "housewife" and "stay at home mom" for 10 years.

Now that it's over, I find myself struggling to find a way to fill the void of being "FREE AGAIN"---and I suffer terribly with my vanity and AGING (did I mention I hate aging?).

I'm at an NBC affiliates party and when I get home I'll post pics so that you can see how badly I need to a facelift.

I don't know what to do with myself yet--but I do want to regain the confidence to be with a man in a relationship again, and he HAS TO BE black, because I'm older and tired of games. I'm really a cooking-laughing-sex woman from the old school variety.

I think "African" women have a terrible time accepting not being wives, since this is the highest achievement (along with motherhood) for us.

I used to be a whore in my early life---and that was SO MUCH FUN (I loved it and feel that it's very good for women to enjoy that autonomy)---but now that I've been LOVED/MATED I find it hard to go back to being a whore.

Renata,

Who these days give each other enuff TIME to reach some spiritual plane together?

Not many.

Most foks run like hell after the first sign of trouble. Oprah and Dr. Phil have convinced mofos that if they're not reveling in each other presence, the whole dayam marriage is 'bout shot to hell.

It's A LOT of responsibility to be accountable for the life and welfare of another person. That's NOT something most foks can handle, especially since they hardly know and will abide their responsibilities to/for their dayamselves.

Kola. The sad part is not that we're paper cups but that those cups are mostly EMPTY.

Thus, we easily make icons of money, sex, careers, entertainment and the like. Convince ourselves that THOSE are what's most important and if our relationships doe not facilitate our acquiring them AS/WHEN we think we should, then obviously the mate and marriage is wrong and we should be free to pursue our (false) gods.

Schakspir: a lot of young people today are spiritually and intellectually shallow. That's why they don't give a shit about finding soul mates. They have no souls to begin with.

"I'm not sure if I ever really want to marry. I see so many men out there cheating on their wives, and looking at other women (including me) when I go out, it scares me to think that someday my husband would do the same to me."

Brownbeauty, That's a very good point you've made. Single women ought to pay attention to how married men behave around them. It has also been my experience that men step out on their wives looking to pounce on new 'meat,' just because they CAN, for the sport of it. That selfishness puts themselves, their wives and children in danger. These animals CANNOT be trusted. Trust only your god-given instincts that may save your life.

BB123,

Believe it or not, just because some married dude's looking at you that don't mean he's gonna try to bone you. And even if he tries to bone you, that don't mean you have to let him.

K?

Toubobie,

If there weren't so many single chicks lustfully sport fuhking married men, you wouldn't have to worry about what those nikkas do.

Oh, so it's that there are so MANY of them, is that it? It's SINGLE 'chicks' fault for sport fuhking MARRIED men? As a MARRIED man, if you believe that, then you've proven my point. This is what you say to all those SINGLE 'chicks' who can't resist you: "[...]if [she] tries to bone you, that don't mean you have to let [her]. K?"

A MARRIED man has absolutely no business even flirting with the idea of messing around. On the other hand, a SINGLE person is not obligated to the responsibility. Understand the difference?

No one says a married person should be boning other people. But if you're boning some dude you KNOW is married, than you deserve whatever kind of hell is wrought from such.

When men smarten up about what's going on, I predict the follwwing will happen: . . . . * Men will be allowed to opt out of parenting unwanted children (if women should have unilateral right to have give birth or abort, men should have the option to avoid parenting an unwanted kid)

Whoa... what do the marital statuses of women in America have to do with men "parenting an ‘unwanted’ kid"?

It seemed you were placing the blame for married men cheating on SINGLE women. Indeed, there is no hell when you're single, careful, and freely f*ckin, so no need to worry bout that. The hell is being female and married.

Most do try to bone me, and if not, the thought defintely crosses their mind.

Secondly, it's the idea that if I were to have a husband, he would be lusting after other women; I'd feel like I'm doing something wrong for him to look elsewhere

"Is it that you'd rather not be married OR you think you'd have to hell of a time finding another person worthy of marrying?"

Moonsigns:
There are various reasons why I wouldn't want to marry again, but it's moreso that I'm quite a (complicated) free-spirit -- and I don't like to compromise. I would never compromise, on any terms, with a man who doesn't possess a healthy balance of 'vision', personal health care (body/soul/mind), intellect, wit, and financial stability. Therefore, that eliminates many men from my potential 'pool'. Also, I have already procreated, and I feel that is a significant reason as to why I don't see marriage with another man as a priority.

I know the difference between a look and a "damn she fine" LOOK, like some of these married men are out there doing.

"Women do it all the time too --and I know you know that!"

True. But I don't notice what women are doing, just the heterosexual men.

See. That's the difference between BLACK women and white women. BLACK women do not look to entice and incite something they know good and well they can't handle. Whenever someone "looks" they are "looking for" something. The only time a DOG understands if it's being sought is if it is looked at and notices the eye contact. If you are married, MIND YOUR OWN GOTDAMN BUSINESS and keep your eyes on your children and your spouse, where they're needed. And yes, your life is over when you say "I do." Get over it. It's noone else's fault but your own. You should have thought of the consequences before you committed to that madness.

BB123,

Men will ALWAYS want MORE sex from MORE women than is available to them. It's bred into our DNA. It's sorta like how chicks will want more shoes and jewelry than they need.

Your only really concern s/b whether or not he IS cheating. If he isn't cheating and isn't making a spectacle of his thoughts about other women, you shouldn't worry about it.

Tonya: "Whoa... what do the marital statuses of women in America have to do with men "parenting an ‘unwanted’ kid"?"

My point is as it become clearer to men and women that they do NOT, as this article asserts, need each other, they are going to begin to re-examine the laws and rules that govern what binds them. And in this more individual-minded world, many men will start to wonder if post-conception women can opt in into (via carrying a pregnancy to term) or out of (via abortion) parenthood why can't men do the same.

Toubobie,

Toubobie: "Men will SURELY give it up whenEVER you want it and when you don't. Dick is everywhere. Tell them you just want to f*ck. Many MARRIED men are down for such a set-up. (They are some nasty motha fuckas.) Most men would LOVE such a set-up. When you are tired of them, there's no hard feelings."

I was responding to YOUR suggesting (to Lola) women fuhk other women's husbands.

Tell me. What would be the thoughts and reactions of must women here if I recommended single men pursued sex from other men's wives (which, from what I gleen of my single friends, is quite a PREVALENT activity)?

If married person who cheats is committing a crime, the single person they're boning who KNOWS they are married are accessories to that crime.

Toubobie: "If you are married, MIND YOUR OWN GOTDAMN BUSINESS and keep your eyes on your children and your spouse, where they're needed. And yes, your life is over when you say "I do." Get over it. Your blatant disdain of marriage and of men in general is obvious. It's ironic, though, how it culminates in you doing the very thing - fuhking other women spouses - that you would villify men for doing. But then, some of the worse misogynists are women.

Well, understanding and accepting that "looking" is human nature (and it IS different than "lusting") --and women do it too--would maybe help you, in the future, to not feel you're doing "something wrong" if your spouse takes notice of another attractive woman. Learn young, looking is a part of life --and most men AND women are constantly "looking" at members of the opposite sex.

I don't know how typical I am of other men. But I don't EVER look at my wife to see whether or not she's checking out other guys. That's just not something that ever even comes to mind.

But she will look to see (and, occassionally, comment about) what I'M looking at. Maybe that's more a female thing.

Moonsigns,

So if you did not intend to procreate, you wouldn't have married?

I think I as a young man I would still want to marry sans the desire to make babies. But if I were born a generation later and I had no desire to be a daddy, it's highly UNLIKELY I would marry.

And it's UNLIKELY I would re-marry.

Just too much confusion, deception and contradictions out there now.

A functioning family is the basic unit of a society. It's falling apart in the U.S., France, and similar individualistic countries. It will be interesting to see if the society also falls apart. Interesting because even though I have lived here for some time I still fill like an outsider looking in. If this were happening in Benin I would be very worried, rather than interested.

Free spirits don't need to have children, because children impose on your freedom and when one's freedom is thwarted the result is a frustrated parent whose children will suffer. Parenthood is not a whim, it's a responsibility. There's no doubt that the break-down of the family unit is taking its toll on this country particularly among blacks. Without structure and guidance and stability, tomorrow's adults will be a dysfunctional crew pushing this country further down the road to disintegration. And so it goes.

As long as I can remember, I always wanted to be a mother. And, for myself, I desired to have children within the (natural and spritual) law of marriage. Therefore, I always knew that one day, because of my desire for motherhood, I would marry and procreate --and I never thought of myself as the type of person who wouldn't be able to find a quality mate to father my children.

BB123,

I recall Moonsigns saying she would NOT approve of her mate spying porn. And I suspect must women in their heart-of-heart feel the same. I doubt, though, that most of them would allow that to be a dealbreaker in their relationship.

Because, at least on some level, you've GOT to let guys be GUYS.

Kola,

Pardon my not being as acquainted with how personal chicks can get in their gym shower/locker room areas. I mean, I guess I figured a woman would wait until she goes HOME to douche.

But then, what do I know. I'm only a guy.

Kola: "How you think I got all this ass?"

In light of all you recent talk about getting plastic surgery, I wanted to warn you I read that a woman was recently convicted of manslaughter because another woman died from her injecting cooking oil into her a$$, I guess, to make it appear bigger or firmer.

So be careful of what you get done back there.

ABM,

My "ASS" is like these titties

100% God-GIVEN.

Now you know damned well that my titties are REAL, No Filler---and your ashy fine ass self is from Mississippi and plopped down in chocolate-ass Chicago, SO YOU KNOW God don't place breasts like that on a BLACK WOMAN without dropping some caboose behind it.

What I had done---is my waist "recreated", because I had lost it having babies. I had my waist liposuctioned and my thighs done.

I'm going to have to take some LEG and BOOTY shots just for you Mr. Smart Ass (*I've always shied away from such photos because of the breast controversy and the need to be taken seriously--but just for your silly shit-talk'n ass.)

That's them white girls that are getting the whale blubber injections and shit.

Kola: "My "ASS" is like these titties...100% God-GIVEN."

Yeah. But as the good Christian foks say: The Good LAWD giveth. And the Good LAWD taketh away.

Hahahaha!!!

But, seriously. I know if you say your T&A is real, it is. You seem almost pathologically incapable of lying about such stuff.

Go'on and seen your skrippah pics, babe. I can use some new stuff to, uh, read while I'm about to take a shower.

Btw: Did you HAVE to bring up how ashy I can get. My wife and daughters already rag on me enuff about that shyt.

I disagree.

"Ash" is very sexy and is seen by Africans to be attractive--depending on the situation.

Not OVERLY-Ashy, but just a little is considered
attractive to us. Especially those of us from
DESERT regions or Sea-side countries.

That's your American WHITE INFLUENCE that's against Ashiness, because their skin doesn't
SHED....they're much weaker genetically
and have thin Ice-country skins.

We have surpluses of melanin, collagen,
elastin and layers. A Black Body constantly
REGENERATES.

That's why we look young compared to them.

Ashiness is a sign of healthiness.

I'm not ashy because I use a soapy loofah and I bathe three times a day (either a soaky tub bubble bath or a shower bath). Plus I utilize oils, creams and lotions.

Clear smooth skin is a sign of healthiness, not an ashy crusty dried up ass !!!

---SEE ABM,

You're a natural man, because those
areas are just what I meant.

We expect a healthy black man to
have a light Ash on his chest, legs
and feet. It means he's normal.

Mzuri

I totally understand where you're
coming from, because in this society
---nobody's going to compliment a
black woman on her "ashy" breasts
or calves

--but our people USED TO in their
natural settings.

Black people love some "ash".

A faint spray of it---not too much.

Some Black people back home
wash their faces

...and then leave the
"ash" to highlight their
cheekbones and "brow" area

but oil it off on the rest
of the face.

It's considered very attractive.

Yes --by Africans. And we live where?

Kola:
"That's your American WHITE INFLUENCE that is against Ashiness, because their skin doesn't SHED...."

Skin, regardless of color, is constantly regenerating. The density of skin layers is due to environment --not one color being "genetically" weaker than the other.

No. "Ashiness" is a direct reflection of the levels of ESSENTIAL FATTY ACIDS, as well as other essential nutrients, within any given human being.

Kola - Do you comprehend the notion that dried skin ash flaking off all over your home and bedding is what attracts bugs and dust mites???

Go wash !!!!

And no, a dried up crusty man is NOT sexy and moisturizing isn't "GAY" When the skin on a man's feet start to crack because he never moisturized them (thereby neglecting them) and he catches gangrene or something - he won't be very sexy at all.

And BTW, your feet are just about the most important part of your physical body.

Trust me.

Excuse me dumb ass MOONSIGNS, but
the COMPUTER allows you to
"downplay" certain attributes of

COMPUTER FILES (which include...DUH..photos files)

before posting them.

These "polaroids" must be converted to PC Files,
right Blinky-Nod?

And I've ALWAYS been complimented on my
"pretty nipples" by men.....so I hardly
understand what your JEALOUS ASS is whining
about.

And WHITE SKIN...is not as healthy is
BLACK SKIN.

Otherwise it wouldn't age and fall off
the bone so quick.

It wouldn't become so transparent so
quick.

Your husband wouldn't be complaining
in bed with black girls about how your
white breasts are collapsing with red,
green and blue ROAD MAP instructions
just below the breast bone.

No....

"ASH" is a trait of Black Beauty, so
you're the last person to understand
what I'm saying on a BLACK DISCUSSION BOARD
about the "ash" that all of us, except your
pale blue-green ass, are prone to.

That's OUR BEAUTY...not yours.

And "African traits" are genetically
a part of BLACK AMERICANS....whether they
like it or not.

It's just ONE PLACE where the arrogance
of Clam-Chowder faced bi tches like YOU
have no jurisdiction or CONTROL.

Talk your White Sauerkraut Girl Bullshit
to somebody else, Ambassador Stank-Stank.

Kola's right and YOU'RE wrong.

No.

Abm:
"Why?"

Moonsigns:
Because for most men, pornography is much more than merely "looking" or "guys just being guys". Eventually, most men want to "act out" their fantasy --and they do. This "acting out" can jeopardize the partner's health, and I couldn't trust him, or any man involved in such, to make my health/well-being a priority when they are (mostly likely) being so reckless with their own.

Moonsigns,

I'm not sure I agree.

I think most men are incredibly interested in sex, we're by nature and necessity polygamous and pornography can for some help provide the erotic release that might LESSENING the chances of their attempting to do that which might jeopardize their partner's health/wellbeing.

But I would agree too MUCH porn (combined with OTHER intimacy issues) can - like with too much beer, red meat and sugar - be problematic.

Yeah, but MOONSIGNS...studies show that the more babies a woman gives birth to, the more likely a man is to cheat.

We all know the physical/hormonal results of "having babies"---and you got 5.

Additionally....

Your man is BLACK...from the WEST INDIES.

He married you, a white woman, because he's colorstruck.

Add all that up.

And it EQUALS===I know damned well he's fucking around...and it's with black girls as close to "teen" as he can get them.

There is NO WAY....no way in HELLLL...that I believe that your man isn't fucking around and got a STEADY--and that she's black.

It's just true, girl.

Your husband cheats and you DELUDED yourself with those "Standards" of yours. Which is exactly why he's fuc.king puzzy at work--in the alley on the way home---over his "cousins, brothers, uncles" garage.

YOU need to drop in at his job with "lunch" and give a blow job as often as possible.

YOU need to give some blow jobs in the car during some of those rides to CHURCH and shit.

Let me tell you something, MOONSIGNS---CHRISTIAN VALUES and THE BIBLE----that shit don't stop no man from fuc.king around. Religion is for women---SNOWED IN wives like you.

Girl, please.

If you were my sister, I'd tell you HOW to keep him from fuc.king around by making HIS BODY not want to---and you can't do that with just sex.

SEX...to men....is a very MENTAL TRIP.

You could really use my expertise---because when my man got to the point that I just KNEW he was on the verge of a "mistress"----I let him go.

I had 10 good years---let that bi.tch have him.

But no---you think Kola doesn't know what she's talking about.

And ABM, she's right about PORN.

When men "seek out" porn, there's a very high percentage of it leading to actual cheating.
It gets to the point where the wife can't compete with the "fantasy" or with the physical image of the "perfect sex body".

SOME MEN---go from Porn to Strip bars in an attempt to LOOK but NOT TOUCH. And believe it or not, studies say that many men who "occasionally" visit strip bars.....are the ones who masturbate and go home to their wives. GO FIGUE

Kola,

I don't think there is a rational causation relationship between porn and cheating.

Yes, perhaps for many of men the porn enables or facilitates certain manifestations of the cheating. But they, if given the chance, were going to cheat...regardless.

That times that dude's spending jerking off to a movie likely would be times he'd be spending chasing other chicks.

And these claims that are often made about the evils of pornography are analogous to those made about alcohol. Sure SOME foks become unproductive, falling down, slopping, DWI drunks. But MOST foks who drink do so while STILL remaining very productive people.

There will almost ALWAYS be some gap between what your average individual man WANTS sexually and what your average individual woman will relent to doing. We're just flatout designed and built DIFFERENTLY in this respect.

The average viewer of this board would have a hell of a hard time holding onto his/her lunch after looking at Kola's crusty face and tits.

Kola:
"But no---you think Kola doesn't know what she's talking about."

Moonsigns:
No. That's not it, because I'm fully aware that all men (and women) have the potential to get involved in situations that could compromise their commitment to their current partner. The reasons I don't consider your "talk" are as follows:

A) You're mentally unstable.
B) You're a hypocrite --you literally phuck your self-proclaimed enemy.
C) You're incredibly insecure and attempt to project your insecurities on others, especially women.
D) You can't engage in a constructive exchange and remain focused and logical.
E) You claim to be a womanist but kiss men's a$$es (because you're so needy).
F) You claim to be a womanist, but have practiced "man sharing" (during your pregnancy at that--YUCK!) --and attempt to pass it off as culture.
G) You are a proud, and somewhat reformed, self-proclaimed whore.

And the list could go on --but I'm sure you get the point: Your integrity is questionable, and your character is far from respectable.

Moonsigns,

Your husband is WEST INDIAN!? LMFAO!! Your Eastern European ass is on some shit!

He's cheating on you, SnowFAKE. Your whiteness is an ego-booster for him. TRUST that he's got a greasy Ma-ma-ma-MUMPIE with a PHAT ass and legs on the side. (Probably one for each day of the week and holiday.) And they are probably fucking to Afro-Caribbean drum rhythms... on that jungle shit that your pale ass could never keep up with. Do you even understand that jungle shit? And no, knowing how to roll and enjoy the occasional "spliff" doesn't count, hon.

You've been conquered by a VIRILE West Indian f*ck machine, the ultimate self-hating archetype. Keep wiping your half-breeds' noses. In his mind, that's what you're good for, cause lawd KNOWS you can't f*ck him and cook the way that THAT West Indian Mandingo likes it, but here's a hint: "Him like his rice well cook, and his goat well curry."

I don't agree with this hatefulness on the board and I am very sad that after this woman had five children and loves her husband that people would wish such bad luck on her marriage its plain evil. Nothing in Moonsigns is nasty or vicious but you all are racist against her because she has a black man and you dont. Miss Kola is so DESPERATE for a man she post naked pictures all over the internet so how can she put down Moonsigns who has a real marriage? I dont know if you believe in god or not but god dont like ugly and lately onthis board everyone has been showing their true faces even the most intelligent from Cynique and Mzuri to you Toubobie (Kola?) and Abm and Tonya its just plain wrong to wish something like this on a woman trying to make it with children and a husband. You dont live in Moonsigns house, you dont know what kind of man she is married to and you dont know she may have true love and a wonderful marriage. MOONSIGNS I say bless you dear heart and I wish you all the best with your husband and kids and please dont let these hateful jealous people get you down because that is all they are trying to do is plant b.s. in your mind and make you doubt yourself. It is nothing less than evil and you are the bigger person god will take care of them you just keep being a good woman and stand by your husband. He sound wonderful :-)

Toubobie,

Oooooh. You sure like to get nasty. LMAO!

You (Toubobie) wrote earlier in this thread:
"Ladies, let's get tested and make sure we're protected, and enjoy ourselves. We can enjoy our lives to the fullest without all the bullshit men ALWAYS bring."

Moonsigns:
This comment is one of many that you've made that reveals how much you 'wear your (broken) heart on your sleeve'. So, tell us the sob story behind all your hostility, because I can only imagine why, and for who, your 'Big Daddy' left you (if you even had one to begin with)! And, I KNOW I'm just your scapegoat!

And that's scapeCURRYgoat. You white bitches will NEVER know how to season your food. You have no flava, honkey which is why your MASTER has chocolate PUNANE on his breath.

Moonshine,

And you think you have Mr. Daddy Screw over there? Just because he beats you, doesn't mean it's love, sweetheart.

Women like me f*ck "your" men and send them home to shit on you. How does it feel to be an undesirable battered woman? I'm sure you've contemplated divorce. Women like you soon come to realize that breeding redbones will not distract him from the mistake he made by conquering you.

Keep hope alive Moonshine... by the way, that slight lift at the end of his stroke? I taught him that....

You taught her man how to stroke it??? LOL!!!

Where do these people come from???

Look, we all know that most men cheat - but not all men do so. Some men do not cheat and some men don't engage in sex at all.

HTF does anyone here know what's going on in MoonSign's relationship (unless you know her personally)?

And why do you even care?

For all you know she might have her man in chastity chains.

If she's happy that's all that matters.

She has enough sense to stalk her man and find out if he's cheating, just like all the rest of us.

And if her man is beating on her, she knows how to dial 9-1-1.

It's not like she's stupid.

Which is more than can be said for you TabouliBrains.

Mzerk,

What would you, a LESBIAN, possibly know about MALE/ female relationships?

And why are you licking/ consoling Moonshine? You're such the philanderer,...you're worse than these men! Now go wash out your nasty mouth.
