I remember reading that she suffers from chronic back pain and takes prescribed opiates. My mom also suffers from chronic back pain and takes prescribed opiates. They cause her to slur her speech, be hyper and figiddy. Then they knock her right out. To someone who doesn't know she's medicated, I'm sure they'd assume my mother was either drunk or high, but all she does is smoke cigarettes and drink tea. On the pill bottles it warns against mixing with alcohol, driving, or operating machinery.
So this is a possible explanation. Then again, she could be drunk as hell. Either way, her handlers shouldn't have allowed her to go on tv like that. |

Sounds like Paula has a miserable existence. She also had a recent episode where she picked up an infection at the nail salon and had part of her thumb removed. I wouldn't wish that on anyone.

Prince must have changed his mind then. I heard he pulled a Tiger-Woods before. If those rumors are true... he may have been the one to start the “mixies” movement. Quite an accomplishment. He should get credit for that.

When were Paula and Prince ever an item????? Are you confusing her with Carmen Electra who was once a Prince protege?? Paula Abdul is Jewish mixed with something else. I forget what. But I saw this on a biography of her on "E" TV. |

Cynique, after reading Mzuri's link, I thought maybe I was mistaking her for Sheila E (who was a bad a** drummer, if I'm recalling correctly). But it just seems like Paula Abdul was once part of his group also. Wasn't Prince her producer or something?

Well, Paula was a former "Laker" girl (cheer leader for the LA Lakers) who resided in California. At the time of her heyday, Prince was firmly planted in Minnesota. He did produce albums for "Vanity" lead singer of a girl group he formed, and for "Appolonia" his co-star in "Purple Rain", both girfriends of his but I'm not aware of him ever collaborating with Paula. |

Who said anything about definitive proof? I simply posted a link. Take it for what it's worth. I think it's a given that Prince is a mixie but most people probably view him as a Black man. He sure as heck ain't white.

I must admit I can't help liking Paula Abdul. She a tiny something. But she comes across as having a LOT of heart.

In all honesty, I'm pulling your coattails. You really don't want to go toe to toe on this one, do you? My humble ignorance isn’t even such that I need to “ask” people to be quiet. Ironically, you can't even spell "quiet" correctly (see your reply above). You may be a platinum poster, but it would appear that your responses don’t hold up to that standard. Nels - I'm a platinum poster due to the quantity of my posts, not because there is any "standard" to uphold. Nor do I feel superior by being a platinum poster - it's not as if I'm being compensated by posting here.
Obviously I can spell quiet, that was simply a typo - believe it or not I'm not perfect nor do I give a care. I had written STFU and changed it just prior to posting - didn't proofread - so what??? I'm sure that I don't irritate the others here with incessant typos, misspellings, misuse of vocabulary, or inane posts because I'm normally conscientious about what I contribute. Hopefully my occasional errors can be overlooked.

Realistically...being part of the "Mixie" movement is not something that people can choose.
Prince and Paula Abdul are not really black people, THEY ARE mixed--whether they like it or not, whether they acknowledge it or not.
It would be so much more beneficial to ALL HUMANS if we didn't have to live by White Slave rules and could identify and accept people for who they are.
I love Julia Roberts and I love Bette Midler and I love Prince and I love Mariah Carey---and none of those people are "black".
It's absurd that just because I say "Prince" isn't BLACK---it supposedly means I don't love and accept him. The truth is...I accept him in his completeness. I don't demand that he represent my chocolate skin and African hair when his hair is NOT NAPPY and his skin, without makeup, is nearly porcelain as Liza Minelli's.
But this slave culture decrees that we disrespect "Black people" by identifying even the "EXTRACTIONS" as black.
Which is how they DESTROY and POLLUTE black culture, by using it as a dumping ground.
