COLUMBIA, S.C. - The 5-year-old child of James Brown and his partner, Tomi Rae Hynie, is not included in the will read Thursday to six of the entertainer's children, attorneys for the late singer say.
While the will provides for six children, Hynie's son, James Jr., is not one of those listed in the document, attorney Strom Thurmond Jr. told The Associated Press.
The will was read Thursday in Aiken but has not been filed in probate court, said Buddy Dallas, another Brown attorney.
Brown died Christmas morning at age 73.
The gates to his home were locked soon after his death, Dallas said, until attorneys could get the estate's legal affairs in order.
The house is owned by the trust and "has been that way since August of 2000," Dallas said. "Technically, the trustees own it for the benefit of the trust. It was not in the name of James Brown and hasn't been that way for years."
Hynie's attorney, Thornton Morris, said he doesn't know anything about the will.
"She was locked out of the house so she doesn't know where the will that's being probated was found," Morris said of his client. "She has no knowledge to when this particular will was executed."

Unfortunately, the woman who was locked out of the house has said that James Brown would get "high" and start cursing that the child wasn't his---but was by a member of his band.

Interesting. I wonder when the DNA test will be performed.
Maybe James DIDN'T forget about the child and remembered QUITE WELL what he thought deep inside in regards to paternity.
One way or another, they need to find out, just for the sake of closure and maybe if the child is proven to be James', Tomi Raye can fight the decision of the probate court. |

If it can be emphatically proven that Hynie's kid is JB's, some provisions should be made for him.
But if it's not JB's kid, Hynie outta STF, take her kid and go off somewhere to live their lives sans the name, money and luster of James Brown.
And a good place to start would be to CHANGE the kid's frickin' NAME. |

I just read an article about one man being shot by another in a quarrel over how tall James Brown was. The article said he was known to have worn "lifts" in his shoes. Wonder just how tall JB was? Short, I guess. |

I doubt her simply having the man's kid would give her control of his estate. It may, via her son, give her some claim to it. But not control of it.

Chris,
JB was a wondrous performer and producer of music. And he was a remarkably astute business person (Owned almost ALL of his master recordings) and a socio-political figure ("I'm Black and I'm Proud").
But, yes. He probably suffered a bit of Napoleon complex. He had very little formal education and social breeding. Hell. He was a BLACK orphan during a time when the Federal and State governments didn’t really give a dayam about such.
So I understand why he had the troubles he had, especially those with respect to women. |

I LOVED her singing voice and I really liked her "innocent" image, because it was REAL. Then I loved the sex symbol transformation.
She had an appeal that I've never found in Britney Spears, Sheena Easton or Debbie Gibson.

I loved Belinda Carlisle when she was fatter.
Still, too, when she got skinny glam---but I really LOVED The GoGo's back when Belinda was fat.
I couldn't even speak English when they came out and they're all I listened to.....The GoGo's.

That woman looks way too old to have birthed that child. Hard living, I suppose. Nonetheless, the child, if it is truly his, should get his share. That is only right.
btw, James Brown had a very....unusual taste in women. However, let's be real, he wasn't that atrractive either.
