Hello from Nafisa Goma.

I'm posting this announcement with a lot of love, a lot of sadness and at the end I've added a few personal things I'd like to say as a NON-BLACK woman.

First--Kola Boof's autobiography "Diary of a Lost Girl" has been bought out by SEABURN PUBLISHING GROUP and will be re-released on Jan. 15th in hardcover on their imprint. A new poetry collection "The White Man's Mother" will also be published by this house.

http://www.seaburn.com/

It was Kola's greatest wish that her autobiography, her life story be her one book that is published exclusively by a Black-Owned house, so this is an especially happy occasion since the N.Y. City based SEABURN is owned by the very successful Nigerian husband and wife publishers, Sam Chekwas and Tyra Mason Chekwas.

In her career so far Kola has been published by 3 Black men--Ethiopian Russom Damba, Black American Cornel Chesney and now Nigerian publisher Sam Chekwas. I think that's pretty impressive and says a lot about Kola's integrity and character that she has sought to build her star through black publishers and to support black business. I commend her on that.

By the end of 2007, books by Kola Boof will be published by 3 to 5 different publishers--including DOOR OF KUSH--as we continue to publish "Flesh and the Devil", "Long Train to the Redeeming Sin" and "Nile River Woman".

The publishers of Kola's upcoming novels "Virgins In the Beehive" and "The Sexy Part of the Bible" should be announced before summer.

This is the beginning of a new era for Kola Boof and I would like to say on behalf of everyone at DOOR OF KUSH that we adore and respect Kola and wish her all the best.

I don't want to start crying here, but I just have to say that I LOVE KOLA BOOF!

I am not a black woman but I feel like Kola Boof is my blood sister, she is absolutely the single greatest female that I have ever known in my life. She is not like anyone I have ever known and I truly believe that she is on a mission that is worthy and important. Her love and devotion to her people--black people--is threatening to many in this country, but as someone who has worked exclusively for blacks in the last fifteen years and been surrounded by their culture and the problems facing their community and especially facing black women and children, I have come to share Kola's battles and I have come to agree with virtually everything she stands for.

I see Kola as a mother not of just her own children but of millions as we at DOOR OF KUSH learned early that in Kola's eyes her work is part of a "great war". She is a soldier and her body, her words, everything is a weapon she uses.

From calling Louis Farrakhan a "white bastard" to shouting down a crowd from the Nation of Islam at her book signing in Chicago to calling out Connie Chung and telling FOX NEWS that she would not have a baby by a white man for "strategic" reasons and not racism, I have never known ANYONE who is so brave, so courageous and so consumed by their committment to their convictions and to their "children".

In the beginning, I used to think it sounded weird when Kola would refer to herself as a "wombbearer" and would claim that she didn't call white women "two faced bitches" because she thought it was right, in fact Kola doesn't think it's right, but she did it--because she believes it's necessary for her children to see her do that and speaking of children, her handsome sons are further symbols of her impressive flair for creating beautiful things in the world and just when I thought I knew Kola, it was to see the "softer secret Kola" that she becomes around her boys that really endeared her to me.

I no longer think Kola's weird. I think she is a brilliant psychologist who literally knows how to speak volumes to millions with just one well worded book title--"The White Man's Mother"--or just one turn of a phrase.

As I have watched Kola sing the song "My Breast Are Filled With Milk and Honey", I have come to realize that Kola is not "weird"--she is an African MOTHER--and to her, in her mind, she must lay a foundation that will be beneficial to her children and that will always ensure her children's existence. What she has to say is very scary to the masses out there who don't value or love black men, women and children, but for those of us who are not black but can look deeper and who value and love our own families, there is nothing we can do but respect and be in awe at a woman who dares to fight against the entire "world" for the right for her children to exist and to use Kola's phrasing "exist as themselves".

Every race should be so lucky as to have a woman like Kola Boof and yet Kola Boof is not a racist.

She loves me and my family as if we were black people and that love has been shown many times over the years to my Non-black children, to my parents, to both my husbands one of whom was White and the other a Black American.

Kola loves white and all human beings and I and both my White husband and my Black husband and all my Non-black children have been a guest at Kola's thanksgiving feasts and watched as she happily welcomed into her home and served food to White women, to Asians and Mexican people and to anyone who could appreciate her sense of humor and her responsibility to what she feels are the tenets of being an "African MOTHER".

I have witnessed a young white mother of a biracial child come to Kola crying because she was homeless and Kola held that WHITE MOTHER in her arms and let her cry all she wanted. Kola moved that white girl and biracial baby in her house and they stayed there three months until Kola helped her get on her feet!

Kola Boof is not just a talented black woman writer or an "eccentric" celebrity, she is without peer the most fascinating and spiritually powerful human being I have ever known.

I do not write those words lightly my friends.

It's been a joy to work with her over the years and was a joy to publish other talented newcommers like Diane Dorce and Chris Hayden.

I am in awe to see the fruits of my own work becoming successful and branching out and I thank Kola for being such a dear friend and sister to me. She is the best sister in the whole world, and in typical "KOLA FASHION"--she helped me to word this letter. Haha!

Only fucking Kola man, I tell ya! :-)

Peace to All and blessings for the New Year.

Sincerely,

Nafisa Goma
