Genetic research shows the average White American is 0.7% Black. 70 percent of White Americans have zero African ancestry. Among the 30 percent who do, the Black admixture is around 2.3 percent, which would be like having about three Black ancestors out of 128.
The average Black American has 18% European ancestry. The equivalent of 106 of those 128 of your ancestors from seven generations ago having been Africans and 22 Europeans.
The average Mexican has 58 percent white ancestry, 39 percent New World Indian, and three percent African.

There were more than a few africans brought to Mexico for slavery. Mexicans would sooner eat a dead buffalo's decaying turd than to say they have any black blood. |

There are STILL African tribes in Mexico because of the intense segregation you can find them on the internet.

In fairness to Mexicans, the vast majority will also disavow their European (White) heritage. Mexicans are very proud of their Aztec lineage and by and large tend to have more Native blood than any other population and usually disregard all other aspects of their ancestry. |

Really? Seriously, I thought Mexicans were trying to make the Census Bureau list them as "white". Also, a vast majority of them would damn near kill you if you called them "Indian". |

Latinos in general who are regarded as White in their country, by their country's standards as to what constitutes Whiteness, want to be classified as White in the USofA as well. When Latinos move from their native countries to the US, they often receive a pretty rude awakening when they learn that Anglo-Americans don't see them as White here.
They're making a case that essentially says if they're White in their country then they're White EVERYWHERE.
Yes, don't call them Indian, but Indian is quite different from Native American. Most Native Americans view the term "Indian" as a slur much similar to how Blacks view "nigger." First Nations, Native American, Indigenous, or Amerindian are acceptable, but for some reason not Indian by itself. Go figure... |

I think that is why on some personal data forms you can check mark what ethnicity you are. White, NOT Hispanic, etc.
It's so odd to me how whites think they can keep everything pristine white BUT don't want to admit that world wide...they are the minority. |

No the hell we are not. Other races (including some of us, but especially Asians) are so quick to gain the approval of whites, they'll damn near rock a KKK sheet and start whistling "The Song of the South" to appease them. |

Oh wow, they are cute! They look very 1970s for some reason.
What's the deal with them in Mexico? Are they poorest most maligned members of society just like we are everywhere? Why oh why is it like this for us? |

Most native north Americans I know (U.S.A. and Canadian specifically) call themselves and others indian. It's the Mexicans that have a problem with this. Strangely the Mexicans appear to have more indian blood than the average American "Indian." |

Mexico is an Indian word, not a Spanish one. They still use a lot of their own native words for some of their towns and cities. (Oaxacala is an example).
But when you think of it, "Indian" is a misnomer as well. |
