This may be a boring topic, but I'm really curious because I'm taking certain things to help with my overal well-being. Is there anything you're taking that you would recommend? I'm taking: Chromium Picolinate Fish Oil Multi-Vitamin Hawthorn Berries Vitamin E Chlorophyll Evening Primrose B-Complex Dong Quai One tablespoon of Cayenne I would take Vitex and Black Cohosh (which I seriously believe helped me get pregnant because my husband and I tried for years with no luck), but since I'm 'regular' now, I no longer need it (I was taking it to cure amenorrhea, and it works). I'm really looking for a Kelp OR Spirulina tablet that contains Chlorophyll as well. I haven't been able to find one. Do you know of one? Most of the time when I'm on here, I'm usually also looking for vitamins/minerals/herbs. I'm kind of obsessed. Anyway...what are you taking that you would recommend? |

Be careful if you take Evening Primrose and Vit E. Some companies add Vit E to Evening Primrose pills, some don't. |

Reneta, I'll give you my list but I'm not recommending anything because I haven't been taking them long enough to know the results.. Vitamin E Vitamin A B12 fish oil omega 3/6 Multi vitamin Multi Herbs & fibers (cleanses the system internally) I noticed a reduction in waist size immediately after using it. It took away access bloating days after using it. Also Oil of Olay makes a line of vitamins specifically for the skin (ester-C, even complexion beauty nutrients, among others). Lastly, I drink LOTS of water to flush it all out. And I do 30 minutes on the treadmill each morning. I've been doing the water and treadmill for years so I haven't had any real problems with my weight or health.

I forgot, I also take B-12, but since I take the B-Complex, I try not to take too much. So I take it every other day. If you take A, try to take the Beta Carotene version. It's supposed to be the "mildest" form. I hear that too much A can be really bad. That's a good list of vitamins. I never thought about adding fiber to my own diet, but I probably should. What kind of fiber do you take? I usually walk a lot, but since I've had my son, I don't so much in the wintertime. In warmer weather, we're walking all day. I can't wait for springtime. |

"What kind of fiber do you take?" I use a product called ultimate cleanse which includes a bottle of multi herb and a bottle of multi fiber. The fiber contains ingredients such as barley rice (fiber), alfalfa leaf, apple powder, ginger root, mint leaf, raspberry leaf, lemon peel and so on.... And the vitamin A that I'm using is indeed Beta Carotene. I heard that A could cause problems also. I had my sister, who is a nurse, run down all of my vitamins to make sure that the combination was safe. She said that they're a safe combination but a waste of time since some of them are water soluble -- in ther words, I'll be pissing most of it out. She also said that we get most of our vitamins from the foods that we eat, another reson why it's a waste of time. But I feel better taking the vitamins since I usually limit what I eat to 3 small portions and two snacks a day. I figure that the vitamins will make up for whatever I may be missing. As for walking, I looove to walk, which is why the treadmill is my favorite exercise. I think I'm actually addicted to the mill, lol. But I prefer the summer and spring too, because that way I'm able to walk for hours. I absultely love the park, and even the hustle & bustle of city life is okay. Touring the city is how I spend some of my free time and, despite what my sister says, as a result of taking vitamins, I've noticed a sharp increase in my ability to tolerate the daily ruckuses, which is pretty much all I need

Yes Tonya, very important about water. There's the book from and East Indian author (and his name is too long for me to even try to spell, but I'm sure you can look it up on the internet) It's called "You're Not Sick, You're Body is Just Thirsty". Phenomenal book. Especially if one is taking so many herbs and vitamins, lots of water (I drink distilled) is important. Fiber is excellent for weight loss too. It works for me. LOL |

I try to drink more and more water, but I always have to add lemon juice. Thanks for the links, PS. For fiber, I was leaning towards Psyllium Husk, but I hear that it gives you gas. Don't want that problem. I've tried Senna leaf tea, but that's not "fiber", that's a straight up laxative. PS, how would you compare Melatonin to Chamomile? |

Renata, Unless you are doing serious cleansing, use Psyllium Husk with extreme caution. It can hold up to 40x it's weight in water. There is a really good fiber called FiberSmart made by a company called 'Renew Life'. It comes in both capsule and powder form. The owner of the company is a colohydrotherapist and naturopath. Her blend is made of equal parts of insoluble and soluble fiber--which is what makes it so gentle. It also contains probiotics (which almost every human being should take) and other beneficial ingredients. It is good that you are taking EFA's (essential fatty acids--omega 3/6). When one takes a fiber supplement or consumes high-fiber food, EFA's act as a lubricant in the intestines to prevent constipation. Supplemental Melatonin is a helpful, short-term sleep-aid, however, it's not beneficial long-term because it can interfere with the bodies natural production of melatonin. Also, if you do use supplemental melatonin, start at the lowest possible dosage and work your way up to a dose that works for you. Chamomile is (generally) a safe herb that can be taken on a daily basis. The best way to use this herb is to drink the tea made from it's leaves.

Renata, I also remember reading that you have a little one. Drinking Chamomile tea is (generally) safe while nursing. When my babies were fussy, I'd give them very small amounts (about 1 tbsp.) of organic, Chamomile tea, and it helped calm them very quickly and safely. It is also great in helping soothe the stomach--which explains why it is helpful with babies that are fussy and adults that have stomaches/gas.

I've started taking Kelp, and so far I like it. It seems to be having a good effect on my skin. The bottle says that it shouldn't be used for extended periods of time, so I'm going to alternate the entire bottle with Spirulina. |

I take flax seed in addition to B-Complex and B-6 100MG. I dont know if you remember but awhile back I had this horrible pain in my foot. Right in the arch. This pain was like a knife with 100 needles going up into my arch. I couldnt put any pressure on it at all. It wasnt gout or some other foot problem someone suggested it might be, that I cant remember the name of. My foot was xrayed and the doctor said it was a nerve problem and put me on the B. I added the B Complex. The reason Im talking about this is, I wasnt fully convinced vitamins can heal until it happened to me. I do get the "tingling" every now and then but the pain..I havent had in months since on this B treatment. I forgot to add I also eat more foods with B in them. LiLi |

Wow, some of yall sure take a lot of stuff. I have: Multivitamin Vitamin C Shen Min (brand name) for hair, skin and nails Garlique Omega H-3 _______________ The only one I take every day is Vitamin C The others I interchange - i.e., multivitamin and Omega one day, then Shen Min and Omega, then Garlique and multivitamin I'm afraid of taking too much. (Yall be careful with those that aren't water soluable.) I drink lots of water and green tea with pure maple syrup, and I eat at least one apple and one banana a day. I'm addicted to Vitamin Waters too (Dragonfruit and Formula 50). I love those. I also do Sonne's No. 9, Dietary Supplement Intestinal Cleanser once every few months.
