Once again, while aimlessly surfing the web, I found some thought-provoking information worthy of everyone's attention: ------------------------------------------------ http://www.playahata.com/hatablog/index.php?p=511 5/13/2005 King Tut new face -The Truth Strikingly similar? Why does the first photo not at all resemble the others? Why doesn’t it even look like the many people (Egyptian archaeologists) in one of the pics? Incidentally, The Discovery Channel a few years back did a reconstruction of Tut that looked nothing like this either, but were much closer to the busts/paintings. Zahi Hawaas is such an ass. He’s so angered by the idea of “black” Egyptians in any sense, he’d prefer Tut look like a Frenchman than even someone resembling himself. Notice his glee that Tut is identified as a “Caucasoid of North Africa.” Scholarship takes a back seat to politics once again. You know there’s so much politics wrapped up in this, it’s a shame. Its no wonder they ended up with this…when they approach the entire matter from the whole Caucasoid African theory…which makes Caucasoid out of everyone from North to East Africa. basically they have fashioned Tut to look like what they expect him to look like–based on the wording “Caucasoid”–a nonsense term as best. This is the same issue they had when they reconstructed the deemed Kennewick Man, a Native American they managed to make look like Patrick Stewart. It was only after all of the broo-hah that it was pointed out that Kennewick Man most likely looked like the Ainu of Northern Japan—so-called deemed Asian Caucasoids who in reality look little different from other Japanese, despite the meaningless nomenclature “Caucasoid.” This game is played also in the History Channel’s redux of Genghis Khan last year, where they made the Mongol leader Turkic rather than Mongolian, based solely on the non-scientific idea of the “global Caucasoid.” It’s the Hamitic hypothesis all over again.-Morpheus -------------------------------------------------- Comment: Morpheus' sure has something here. |

They've done the same thing to Nefertiti. The Discovery Channel showed the scientific reconstruction of her and she came out looking like a chocolate brown Black woman. But Egypt went bezerk, claiming that the corpse wasn't hers--but perhaps a servant's. These "Whitening" has been done to several women, but because it's suddenly happening to a male---black people are upset.

I'm shocked that egyptologist have to resort to self-delusion to keep their egypt white. It's starting to look pathetic now. And there is something that even my sociology teacher and agrees with: people always takes the word of a white over that of a black, and they'll take the word of man over that of a woman. And if you're black AND a woman, no one fights as much as WE have to to be respected. |

Another observation: people have been very guick to denounce or discredit the "mitochondrial Eve" theory as 'flawed', yet were even quicker to accept and openly embrace the "genetic Adam" theory, DESPITE the fact one theory WAS NO MORE concrete than the other. |

A question and a random observation: Question: Would any of you (have any of you) participated in any of the genetic haplotype mapping projects? (All it takes is an inner cheek swab...) Observation: What we are decrying here with "history" is still going on--but with us. Fast foreward hundreds of years after our current civilizations are long gone...outer space creatures come here and unearths the records we have left...What will they conclude about what we Earthlings looked like? Most likely, some obscure professor-type space creature would have to fight long and hard to convince its fellow creatures that a majority of Earthlings looked more like you and me than what our archealogical record will likely suggest...

Everyone wants everything in their image, huh? ^^' When will people stop measuring the past by present-day stnadards? |
