Actress Gabrielle Union's
publicist is asking that
we spread this news around:
I think you should all be aware of an incident that occurred with my
client Gabrielle Union and the owner of Club Mood - Los Angeles, CA.
Mood was going to host her
birthday party which is a week away. Once the owner found out she was
African American he not only cancelled her party but he proceed to say
that he "didn't realize Gabrielle Union was black. I thought she was The
white volleyball player. I don't want her kind of people in my club."
I want to make you all aware of this so you can discourage your celeb
clients from going and also doing any events with him. Thanks

In a way this is our fault!
There is no excuse that Afro-Americans should not own at least one of everything in every city-CLUBS/PARTY PLANNERS, movie theaters, banks, libraries,transportation system, gas stations, etc. We sure have the numbers............
Instead of focusing on pulling our resources together, "we're" are always concentrating on ALLIANCES (and being "cool") with foriegn people!

The owner of the club has said that all of this is untrue. The party for GU was not finalized and he was given a more lucrative offer for that particular evening--so he took it. He also stated he was well aware of who she is (GU), he did not mistake her for the white, volleyball player. His representative is asking for a public apology as well as a complete retraction of the statements made by Holly Shakoor.

If Gabrielle Union says that this happened to her.....then I'm going to believe and side with my girl.
Not you and the white guy.
I've had too much experience in this world to take his word.
And Gabrielle is one of the sweetest, nicest people in Hollywood. I don't see her making this up.

There are a lot of Black clubs, restaurants, etc in L.A. where she can hold her party. She want's to hold it at a racist's place. Good that he has rejected her and her kind from his place. |

You are right but I get SOOOOO tired of black folks telling other blacks folks what THEY oughtta do.
One reason why we don't is because, God help us, blacks with money are rushing to spend it with white folks. Here in St. Louis recently the Adams Mark fronted black guests off again.
Now, you will say, "But maybe Blacks don't have a nice hotel downtown other blacks want to stay in"
But there is a fine hotel downtown owned by a pair of Black brothers. New, etc.
No way. Sheets ain't white enough.
Why don't YOU start a bank, movie theater, etc?
