Girl, that ain't even news. LOL
We're extremely intelligent. The thing (I don't want to say "problem") with black women, though, is that we're so busy taking care of everyone else that we don't push for better for ourselves. We're just not that... selfish (for lack of a better word).
IMO, the only reason it's changing now is because women aren't expected to be married and have kids right out of high school like they were in my mother's day.
Also, we've always been smarter, but due to racism, sexism, and bias against the poor.....
And as you pointed out somewhere else, priviledge allows some people to get away with not being as intelligent as others.
So, on one hand you have: white, male, college grad, only has to fend for self, has to appear powerful to attract a mate.
on the other hand you have: black, female, could only afford to go to trade school, has to appear submissive to attract a mate.
There's no wonder that even though black females are smarter, they don't do as well in business. |

I believe that's already true in the US, for girls anyways. We just have to get them out of public schools.
Just using this as an example because everyone knows about it: Fantasia dropped out of the 9th grade. Fantasia can't read. What does it say about the public school system that she could go to the 9th grade without knowing how to read? |

Renata...it may not say much of anything about the public school system alone. Education is a two-way street...where ALL parties should be held accountable. The public school system does have major flaws (both intrinsic and by design), but unless Fantasia applied herself and her parents kept up a fuss about what was going on, what could have been done? We do, however, NEED to get our own schools...overwhelmingly. But that won't happen largescale until Black people become less integration minded. |

True. The parents are partly to blame. I won't blame Fantasia herself for too much. Children don't apply to anything if their parents don't find it important. |
