Hi all,
Random House picked "me" as the blurb person to go on the FRONT COVER of the Oct. 25th Paperback release of Trace Price Thompson's hit novel "A Woman's Worth".
This book is currently nominated for the HURSTON-WRIGHT AWARD.
It sounds minor---but it's actually major, because
this is a major "HINT" about where I'm headed----and I'm so proud to announce that a FOCUS GROUP of Black women readers chose me as the #1 most exciting "new writer" that they'd like to hear more from, which is how I was chosen to go on the FRONT COVER and not the back.

LOL, thanks Tonya.
I was just informed this morning.
Because the book is a million seller but also PRESTIGIOUS, it's really a coup for me to be on the FRONT cover.
And whoever these black women across the country are that Random House polled---I'm just so grateful that they've even heard of me.
I was #1 with black women readers on the question "Which new writer are you most excited to read more from?"
There was no "list" of names. They had to write it in.
Just shocking!

Out of curiosity, have you at least READ the book or are you going to be one of those blurb ho's who hasn't bothered to open the cover, but is just so thrilled to see their own name in print in association with someone who's career is successful that they'd just say anything? |

The book deals with Female Genital Mutilation.
Tracy asked me to read the book before it ever came out, for accuracy---which I did.
My quote is from an "EMAIL" to Tracy.
The book is nominated for the HURSTON-WRIGHT Award and it was Tracy's first "literary" turn---her novels are usually POP FICTION, but only because that's what she's paid to do.
The girl can write her ass off! And I look forward to her next literary outing.
ZANE is also working on a literary title.
6 months ago--I was asked by the editor if they could quote my email on the back of the paperback with a list of other authors (all much bigger than me)....I said yes.
But after a FOCUS GROUP rated me so highly, Random House put my quote on the FRONT of the book.
However, I did find out last night that my AGENT had something to do as well with my name being moved to the FRONT.
Anyhoo---you ought to see the gigantic SUPERSTARS who gave "quotes" for MY upcoming next novel. If I can ever get it finished.
And they were quoting "my overall writing ability", Babygirl---not the novel.

Nope, not telling.
Because out of 12 quotes--don't know which one will make the final.
But my AGENT is "no joke". I have lucked up finding him.
