It's terrible there. Some places still don't have water and electricity. My baby and I left later than we wanted to because it took them some time to get the roads opened in my area, and some areas are still closed. Thank God my baby's OK.....even though he has a real problem with tantrums now, so I have to talk to his doctor about whether he's having stress due to the whole thing. |

Reneta: Good to hear from you. I'm glad you and the baby are safe. Hopefully, you guys are taking some time off so you can focus on getting things straight. Lord knows y'all deserve the time. Stay safe. Tonya |

God bless you and the litle one. Some reassurance I can offer is that at least your child's still a baby during this time. This tragic event may be out of his memory banks by the time he's in grade school. Happy you made it out.

Good news, I just found out that Ludacris is paying the rent for 15 displaced families to move in directly across the street from me. That's nice of him. |

Hi Renata I just came back from Mobile and Saraland where I have friends as well. I took a few pictures on I-10 which I will post. It was so much destruction from this storm that even the mighty USS Alabama is sitting lopsided in the bay. Truly a sight to see. I can't imagine confronting the issues some of the people will have and have had during this time. You can't find a hotel vacancy anywhere in the county. |

Here are a few pictures I took of the destruction along the gulf:

That kind of looks like the bridge across the bay, am I correct? Well, thanks for the pictures. I've found out that my brother in law in Mobile, and my friends in Semmes are OK. But I still haven't heard from family in N.O. and on the MS coast. My brother in law said that downtown Mobile was under water for a while. |
