Well, media, America, it's your problem after 3 years, I'll be out of here. How many ways can this be said? The hell with you folks! ? Not my problem? Deal with it? Suck it up? As Carlos Rivera says.."Shiit happens." I could go on with 4 letter words, but you get the point. From The New York Times: WASHINGTON, March 21 — President Bush said Tuesday that the war in Iraq was eroding his political capital, his starkest admission yet about the costs of the conflict to his presidency, and suggested that American forces would remain in the country until at least 2009. In a quick remark at a White House news conference about the reserves of political strength he earned in his 2004 re-election victory — "I'd say I'm spending that capital on the war" — Mr. Bush in effect acknowledged that until he could convince increasingly skeptical Americans that the United States was winning the war, Iraq would overshadow everything he did. Later, in response to a question about whether a day would come when there would be no more American forces in Iraq, he said that "future presidents and future governments of Iraq" would make that decision. That statement was one of the few he has made that provides insight into his thinking about the duration of the American commitment in Iraq, and signaled that any withdrawal of troops would extend beyond his term in office. Minnie E Miller Author of "Catharsis" www.millerscribs.com Watch for The Seduction of Mr. Bradley. “There is something about the feel of freedom that is both intoxicating and scary. To be sure, freedom is a bittersweet experience that carries heavy responsibilities: If you don’t take care of business, you are back in slavery.” ~ ~ ~ "Freedom” by Minnie E. Miller |

Serves them right for getting into bed with him and being cheerleaders for this thing instead of asking all the questions they are asking now--they are finding out how Texans treat their friends when the going gets tough. |

Will not. I'm from Missouri. I remember a couple of years ago some Missourians got a taste of Texas hospitality that was oddly reminiscent of what the Iraqi prisoners were going through in Abu Graib-- I remember getting into a set to with some Texans before about this. They wanted to point out that all Texans were not like Bush, Delay, etc. I replied maybe not but it seems like none of the good people run things or have any power down there. The cream always rises to the top. For everybody else unless it is a matter of life and death stay out of Texas. It's a real hellhole! |

CH - Texas is NOT a hellhole! I live here and I'm telling you it's nice and I'm nice and everyone I know is friendly. There are 25 million ppl in Texas (not including all the illegals), so you can't judge us all based on your opinions of Bush and DeLay. Those guys got into office because money talks and you know what. There are some prominent Black politicians here, a couple of ladies that come to mind are Eddie Bernice Johnson and Sheila Jackson Lee - which demonstrates that Texans are represented by other ppl besides just Bush. I apologize for your bad experience but I'm sure it was an isolated incident. Haven't I always been courteous to you? That's because Texans are warm and caring! TEXAS IS NICE! |
