Hi all,

I'll be the Guest Lecturer at California Lutheran University on Wednesday, April 26th at 6 pm in the Science Hall.

The Women Studies/English Dept. at UCLA is sponsoring my lecture.

http://www.callutheran.edu/

I'll be discussing my life and work, "Womanism" in literature, the future of Black People in America and then taking questions from the audience. Followed by a book signing.

This is a MAJORITY WHITE campus, so it would be wonderful if some blacks came out to see me.

The event will be TAPED for the UCLA Archives and portions of it eventually posted on the internet.

The University of the District of Columbia was my first paid lecture in 2004, and although I'm quite bizarre and "coarse" for the academic setting, I plan to do more.

Hi Roxie, :-):-)

I can only come if the college is willing to pay for my trip and pay me to lecture.

As for a "book tour"....my publisher will be sending me on one as soon as I feel attractive again. Probably this summer. :-)

I can't wait to see you, girl!

As an Eritrean Woman raised in Germany for most of my Life, I have always longed for Black "heroes" ( wheather they consider themselves Africans,
African-Amreicans,Carribeans or Latinamericans..still the same struggle)like you are. I have never heard of you until few moments ago. Let me tell you this..I have not yet read any books of yours nor am I too familiar with Sudans political situation yet , but reading the comments you made on various issues regarding your life and work just make me so proud. I agree with you and I certainly feel like i can relate to you as both our neighboring countries have been faced with struggles and lost too many of those beautiful souls! Athough we might have diffrent stories to tell, to me you already have touched my heart with your willingness, determination and dedication to stand up for your people and teach the rest of us.
Your are a true "African Ambesa"( Lion, in Tigrynia )
p.s I would love to know if you ever plan to come to Germany and invite you to my school.
