Kola,
I disagree.
If homophobia were really the issue, Ang Lee would NOT have received Best Director Award for GAY "Brokeback" (and it would NOT have been the most Oscar nominated film) and Phillip Seymour Hoffman would NOT have received the Best Actor Award for GAY "Capote".
I think "Crash" got the Best Picture Award because Hollywood wants to pretend to care more about America's race issue than it really does. You take "Crash" out of the mix and "Brokeback" EASILY wins Best Picture over the other films. |

I feel the same way about the award going to Three Six Mafia for best song. They knew that they couldn't give the best acting award to T. Howard because that would be the third year in a row that a black male won best actor or supporting actor (and his role wasn't that great). so they threw an award to a rap group,to make us think they really care about black people in hollywood. (since they feel all black people love rap music and it represents all of us we'll be happy) |
