Someone asked me exactly how do they sign up for a "Black Woman's Revolution"

...and I was hard pressed to answer, because...

I am at my core--a writer. And therefore all of the secrets, tricks and all of the wisdom and magic that I have is contained in THE BOOKS...that I write.

My handicap in trying to be one of the faces of a Black women's revolution in America---is that I am African.

Because I am African, Black American WOMEN can't totally understand or trust me. I am constantly having to worry if I have stated something the wrong way----I am quick and easy to offend them, because I ASSUME that our goals are the same (mines being that everyone should be BLACKER, NAPPIER and relating to the ancestors).

And thus, there is only so far that I can preach.

I am not even a christian. I'm a goddessa nilotic.

But for those who truly want revolution for the Black woman, I have put the wisdom of the ages in the books I've written. In my autobiography, I explain to my sons (and to sisters) HOW to kill, WHY we must kill and WHO we must kill----and I say emphatically that...it's time to kill.

There's enormous disease and poison within our race, our people, our bloodberry---whatever you want to call it--and that disease and poison must be CUT OUT. With a surgical process. By thinking, deliberate MOTHERS.

Any woman who has breasts, a womb and loves her people---is a mother to those people.

In my books I have set the seed AND the ingredients for revolution.

And the higher I rise--the more the world will be able to hear my vocal. But first, I have to rise. I can't be heard underground.

And it's the people who PICK exactly who they want to hear from.

I have not been risen up. I have consistently been silenced.

Because I am a woman--I doubt that I will really be heard or considered during my lifetime. Like Zora Hurston, I will have to actually die before people drop their fear and ANALYZE what I am saying.

But we need someone who truly loves our race--as Malcolm did. Because there are very few Black Leaders who truly love our race.

What I see are weak, waffling men like Cornel West, the Amiri Baraka types, the Smileys and Farrakhan.

These men have not CHOSEN, AFFIRMED and LOVED the black child in their own lives.

How can they lead the Black people?

How do you sign up?

Spreading the word is a good start. :-)

On tuesday we had a mandatory roundtable discussion on race for sociology class and one woman did mention the hatred this nation has against the blackest of black people. Of course the discussion leader (white lady married to a black man in anacostia) took it as an allegation. :P

Anyway, It's nice to know there was another person out there whose on your page.
I gave that girl your name and URL. :-)

Thank you so much, Roxie.

When I launch PROOF Magazine---I really need you to give out the URL!

As I said...I put the wisdom of the ages in my autobiography

...but there has to be a more direct way to wake up black people.

Kola:

The men who you mentioned really don't "lead" the masses of black American people.

But, to be simplistic about answering your question, I can tell you that you are right, your biggest handicap is and will always be that you are NOT "African" American.

We are a little more tolerable toward "other black" (when compared to west indians or africans) but trust me, we (or should I say the majority of us) always prefer to listen to, and to plan with other "African" Americans.

We've been doing it this way for MANY, MANY YEARS...and it's worked.

Because of our own coordinated efforts with one another, you along with other africans are here enjoying the fruits of our labor.

So, my suggestion to you, is to help "your" people....Africa needs you. Those people are truely fugged up. They have NOTHING to show for years of toil...but the african amercian does.

That's a fact Kola.

I live in California.

Not Africa.

And I was raised by a Black American family. And ALL BLACK people...carry my blood.

Therefore, they're MY people.

So you can take your ass to Africa and help your people---while I help mines over here.

While I said being "African" handicapped me---I didn't say it would stop me from contributing and participating.

And it won't.

Oh---

and the Africans have their own countries.

In the 1960's as colonialism ended---they became "self-governing".

There is no glass ceiling on what they can accomplish....as their is in Black America.

And still have their Black skin and African hair and the FACT is....

..whenever you look at the Africans, you are looking at your ancestors.

All that's left of them.

So by hating the African--you really show your hatred for your ancestors.

I don't hate africans. I am simply stating a fact because africans are reduced to coming to american and perhaps the UK to find a better life.

The reason why I would NEVER move to africa is because MY ANCESTORS built this bytch. They didn't punk out and run all around the world to get out of fighting for their rights.

Oh, and let's not forget the MAIN reason why africa can't get any better....the black on black corruption is crazy there! Hell, the UN will give food to a starving country and the countries officals will then sell the shyt on black market, while most of the citizen's starve..

This is some african shyt right here, kola. Straight fugged up.

I am just saying that africans are in need of all of your pep talks....we got this over here....before a kola even existed we (only 12% of american culture) worked the shyt out of this country for our deserved rights.

EVERY OTHER black person here is reaping that benefit.

None of what you said "REPRESENTS" Africa.

You just typed up a bunch of STEREOTYPES....sort of like saying "Watts" alone represents Black America. It's untrue.

And your ANCESTORS who "built this bitch"---were AFRICANS.

They are the same AFRICANS you're putting down in Africa.

And what is the difference between CLARENCE THOMAS, Ward Connerly and those corrupt officials in Africa selling the people out?

It seems to me....Black people sell out worldwide.

And since nobody's told you....almost as many Black Americans live in Africa....as Africans live here.

SHOCKING ISN'T IT?

And all this wealth in America---is because of the White Americans. Not because of you.

You worked no harder than the Jamaican or Haitian slaves, but your MASTER was richer than theirs.

You live in a rich country. Blacks in BRAZIL...don't.

But regardless of anything you say.

I won't be leaving.

My work is here in America....and my work will make a difference here.

Because I am one BAAAAAAD Bitch.

And now you know where you got it from.

But Black Americans are my people, I love them and I have to try.

You never know until you try.

If nothing else, by the time I die, they will realize that I loved them very much. I just want them to know that I love them, which is why I'm upset.

Kola:

Lemme break it down like this:

This bytch (America) was not built in one or two generations. Those first few generations picked cotton, built houses, chopped wood, etc. These were the africans.

After they STOPPED chattel slavery, something magical happened......Most of the former "pure" african blood became very diluted.

There are many stories of slaves being born to african women who came out light with curly hair. In some stories, there were instances where some plantations were chock full of little slave children with red hair....just like the white owner of the plantation.

The blacks in the west indies are often much more "pure" in terms of being african because they outnumbered the white people, so there simply was not very much race mixing as in america, even to this day.

But the west indians want NOTHING to do with any african and the continent, even though they are closer as far as "blood". Which is why you can't fck with them. They would automatically call you an african and tell you to get lost.

As far as there being just as many african americans in africa, I'll need to see some proof of that. Your tongue (or should I say fingertips) are not noterized.

Besides, I do not believe that statistic because that would mean that those african americans are straight idiots...why would they WANT to go to a place where many of the people are trying to flee their damn selves??

Oh, and back to the issue of building up this bytch....AFTER slavery those "rich" white masters didn't give this "new" black american man/woman shyt. We hustled and worked this sytem for what it was worth...the african american was in the same fuggin boat. Nobody got shyt, except a an attack dog on their trail.

However, that 12% (african americans) did the damn thing during a period called "Reconstruction" which set up the framework for civil rights of the 60's.

All the while, africa and africans are playing games and the fruit of their labor is proof positive that they are straight on some bullshyt.

Progress doesn't take forever. African Americans proved that.

Kola:

As far as Black Americans being your people...let's face it, you're not dumb...you course you want US to be your people.

Hell, you are better off that way. Would you prefer you and you kids to go and live in africa, only to have to come back here for a good education or perhaps some decent healthcare?

It'a a no-brainer. But your marketing as far as doing "us" a favor when in reality you're doing yourself a huge fuggin favor by taking advantage of being in a country where the living is MUCH easier than in your home country.

I have a feeling that you already know not to fugg with the other black like the west indians!

You're a smart women Kola, I love people who know a safe, comfortable spot when their azz is in one.

I'm not hating on that.

About 50,000 African Americans live in Kenya, another 150,000 live in South Africa. That's just two countries. Didn't Maya Angelou live in a colony of BlackAmericans in Ghana one time?

Brian, you really need to get out and meet some real Africans.

MANY, MANY of those Africans come here and start businesses, save some money, close up shop, AND MOVE BACK HOME.

More don't have the money for a business in the US, so they just work hard, then RETIRE AND MOVE BACK HOME.

Some come to work and pay for their siblings to go to school IN AFRICA instead of bringing them here to go to school for free. And when they're finished paying for school, they save some money, AND MOVE BACK HOME.

And if it were such a cesspool, why would American people go there AT ALL, some deciding to stay there?

Not all 56 countries are Sudan, Rwanda, or Somalia.

I get sick of everyone thinking Europe and Asia are some kind of magic La La, while everywhere that's predominantly black is automatically a cesspool.

The media try so hard to get "edumucated" blacks worldwide to believe that Africa is a dump, so that we won't move their and help if we can or become citizens if we wish. Somehow, that message that Africa is a dump doesn't get to UNEDUCATED whites who move there and try to take over. We'll help Africans as we consider ourselves as brothers. White men aren't brothers of the African, so they couldn't care less of what they leave in Africa, only what they can take.

And something to think about: Mary McLeod Bethune wanted to be a missionary. During her time, Black Americans could be missionaries to ANY PLACE BUT AFRICA. I wonder why they would want to keep black americans away from Africa? Because they're afraid we'll befriend and help these people. Which is a big reason why they only show Africa as a dump where we will be so uncomfortable, but somehow it's not too uncomfortable for THEM to want.

Nubian:

I would like to see some proof of those numbers.

I doubt that they are true, but just for shitz and giggles, let's assume that this IS true for a minute...

Ok, if there are 50,000 African Americans living in Kenya and 150,000 living in South Africa, then I am sure that they are ADDING to the country...I am sure they are over there AFTER being educated here in America and they are trying to build that those places up.

I doubt they are there driving cabs, or trying to go to school. They are probably there establishing some health clinics, schools or something.

The average african here in america is trying to actually get something from a system (school, jobs etc)....I am sure the african americans in africa are not doing that for obvious reasons.

Even in this case, you see it just shows how big the african american's heart really is...still willing to help out in africa when they can be living 100% better anywhere on the globe..

Of course africa is comfortable for the whites and the black officals because of the terrible corruption problem.

The white man's motto is always "cut me in or cut it out" as far as corruption...so what does the african officals do?

They cut him in, so that they can continue living good while the masses don't have shyt.

Then take your ass to China, live it up, AND FUCK OFF.

Brian if you hate Africans that much like you, then you obviously hate we African Americans who look like them. Your probably a very lightskinned colorstruck snob who is so afraid for US blacks to connect with African blacks. Kola doesn't live in Africa, she lives here right? Then she is every right to complain about her surroundings because she is part of the community. I agree with 90 percent of what she has to say. She says things a lot of us want to say, I don't even think of her bieng African.

I live here, but I would so go to Africa if my husband weren't too afraid to live away from his family, and if my own family weren't so nuts about me leaving the country. I live just 2 states away, and they think I live too far away.

I've had quite a few African friends over the past few years. Some were spouses of Americans they'd met in Africa. Some were here for school, some were working and sending money to parents or family who couldn't support themselves, some were working to send their kids/siblings to school in Africa. Some were here to sell clothing/items sent to them by their relatives. Some were some colorstruck people who thought that American wives would be "prettier" than African women. MOST of them talked about going back to live and just coming here because of opportunities to make money that they could live off for a long time.

I once dated a Somali who was here as a war refugee, and he said that he was moving back as soon as the war was over. He wanted me to go with him and marry him, but my mother wouldn't allow me.

One friend of mine married a guy in Ghana, and only moved here because her family gave her such a hard time. Her husband stayed there for about 8 months afterwards, hoping she would go back. When he realized she was staying here, he came over and he hates it here. He was a teacher in Africa, and now he works menial jobs.

Two Japanese friends of mine lived in Kenya. One for 3 years, one for 1 year. They say they liked it a lot, but they also really liked living in England, Korea, the US, and France.

What America is this Brian's Song person living in. I live comfortably, but, hell, I want to move to the America he's talking about. Or smoke some of it one.

BTW, Kola doesn't feel comfortable telling you this because you've made her feel like an outsider. But I don't feel like no outsider so I don't give a fuck:

If the white man hadn't developed a strategy to get other nations to stop oppressing its people AS MUCH (only as much so he could get his hands on the rock) you'd be sucking the white man's dick right now--Brotha!

Come off your high horse....

He set your ass free to make it look like he was easing up, so everybody else would ease up (again... to get his hands on the rock).

But make no mistake, you ain't freed shit.... He freed your monkey black ass.

I hate to hurt your pride, brotha... but like you said... "the truth hurts"....

Kola I am in almost 100% agreement with all you say. But as an African woman who also lives in the U.S. I have this question for you: do you believe that the struggles of East African women require more of your attention than those of black American women ?

Personally I think that African women's struggles are more substantive. It is absolutely clear that black American men do not cherish black American women but this pales in comparison with the servile, condescending ways in which African women are treated. I believe that a movement gains momentum only when those trampled upon speak out. It's great, for example, that Sembene made the movie about female circumcision but it would've been so much more powerful if a woman would've made that movie. You are one of the few African women empowered with an audience. I know of your work in Sudan and it is magnificent. Will you speak out as valiantly and honestly for the specific concerns of African women as you have for black American women? In that area no one could accuse you of being foreign.

If I am ignorant of your efforts so far I apologize in advance.

Dahomeyahosi,

There is nothing ignorant about you, dearest one.

The fact is....I don't live anywhere near East Africa.

I live in California.

My family are Black Americans who live in Washington, D.C. and Virginia. They raised me for over 2o years in the United States.

Not a single East African nation will allow my books to be published in those countries.

But I do have close personal friends who are from Kenya, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Somalia, Sudan and other eastern countries.

As well....my work does speak very loudly of African women's struggles---apparently you haven't read my autobiography or my short story collection about African women, "Long Train to the Redeeming Sin".

My next novel, "The Sexy Part of the Bible" is set in West Africa and features a majority West African cast of characters led by several women.

I am planning to make films in the future---and many of those films will be set in Africa, and even the ones set in America will feature African actresses in some of the roles. And just as the "Color Purple" proved---you can do a story about black women anywhere, and it will stand as a symbol for black women EVERYWHERE.

But the fact remains, there are millions of Black women here in America (WHERE I LIVE) and if they are risen up....then the African woman will automatically be risen up as well.

When Black American women wear weaves....African women copy it--because the Black Americans are the only blacks with access to the MEDIA.

Therefore, they must be imbued with the powers of their ancestors.

The only living replica of their ancestors is US--the African woman.

In no way am I turning my back on Africa. The fact is...I am too Americanized and face too many death threats from Muslims to set foot in Africa. AND...I don't live there in order to know the details of the problems.

I really believe that America is a place of power for me....and that my deeds HERE will eventually impact black women EVERYWHERE.

God has set me down here and chosen this for me.

Lastly---the Black American man, if he has his way, is going to slowly obliterate and erase the Black American people from the American landscape.

This is against the Africans who were forced here in slavery. SOMEONE must make a war against this self-destructive self-hatred. Someone must EMPOWER the Black American woman to believe in herself enough--to give loyalty to her WOMB and not her man long enough---to overcome the march of death that is set against the Black Americans.

The Black Americans must survive as themselves. These are our children here that are being BRED out of existence and they are too ignorant to see that being bred off the planet is no better than the atrocities going on right now in some small corners of Africa.

The Black Americans are my people now, sister, and I am responsible for what happens to them---because they saved my life.

Do you understand?

Tonya:

As far has the white man and my freedom, I have never been a slave, thanks to God and no thanks to africa or africans in particular.

Hell, last time I checked they still had slavery going on over there in africa after all of these years. But again, correct me if I have lied.

I am not on a "high horse" either.

I am simply generating some facts and some are mad as fuc for that.

I am simply saying that Kola is claiming that "we" are her people and in the same breath calls us "niggers" when she gets pissed.

Kola calling african americans niggers is about the same as a white person saying it because she is not one of us, and will never be one of us.

What is curious to me is how she lives California and is so hell bent on "helping" the african american....she disguises it as if we "need" her the most but let's be real...it's because her own people rejected her and continues to do so.

But of course being the loving people that we are, many of us have accecpted her...just as the black slaves would acecpt children who were not biologically theirs because their real parents were sold off or killed....

Our ancestors never divided and played games as far as color, hair,et al. like Kola does. They loved the "light skinned" girl or boy and made them their own.

Just as some of us have done for Kola.

Ironic huh?

What do you think "Pogo-nigger" means?

You think you're the ONLY fucking black people on earth?

The people of INDIA were called "nigger" for 135 years by the BRITISH colonists.

You are not the only "niggers".

AFRICA is over-flowing with motherfucking sorry ass NIGGERSTOCK.

You are NOT special.

You barely even qualify for the kind of niggerdom I'm talking about.

Just as many GOOD African people loved and nurtured me....as BLack American.

And I've met just as many evil, self-destructive Black Americans....as I have Africans.

You really don't know what the fuck you're talking about.

But if you really want to get a GRIP on where I belong and how I came up---then you need to read my autobiography.

If you did----then you wouldn't looking like a damned fool talking all this bullshit.

FUCK YOU!

The least you could do, Brian, is name the COUNTRIES that have problems. NOT ALL 56 COUNTRIES ARE AS YOU DESCRIBE IT.

And in my opinion, ONE HUGE REASON Africa is having so much trouble is because people of AFRICAN descent in other places demonize it and refuse to want anything to do with it. And not the bad countries, but ALL of Africa.

We black Americans are NOTORIOUS for wanting to be "one" with "colored" people and do business with/intermix with Mexicans, Guatemalans, Koreans, Indians, etc., but as soon as we have to interact with AFRICANS, suddenly we're "different" enough from them to not have to care about their welfare.

Just keep in mind, however, that even our NAME in this country should give you something to be proud of: we're AFRICAN, before we're American. We're not just ANY American, but the African ones (which is why I like the term African American over Black, Negro, whatever). Being born outside of Africa doesn't make you non-African, no more than being born outside of China makes you non-Chinese. No matter where Chinese people are born in the world, they're still Chinese. "American" isn't a race, it's a nationality. Your nationality is American. Your race is not.

You are African. Whether you like it, don't like, can't deal with, don't like African people, hate the ENTIRE continent of Africa doesn't means SQUAT. You're an African who just happened to be born outside of Africa.

THE SOONER AFRICAN DESCENDED PEOPLE STOP TRYING TO FIGHT "BEING AFRICAN", THE SOONER WE CAN START DEALING WITH OTHER THINGS TO HELP ALL AFRICANS, INCLUDING US.
