DAVIS ELEGANT EVENTS is hosting a Chicago Read-In in conjunction with the 2009 National African American Read-In. EVENT DATE: Saturday, February 7, 2009 @ 3:00pm-6:00pm EVENT LOCATION: Coffee Break Cafe, 10307 South Hale, Chicago The Chicago Read-In will have many Chicago Authors, as well as book lovers, participating in this literary event by reading a passage from their favorite book ~ a favorite poem or a brief excerpt from a short story. We are all enthusiastically supporting reading and literacy. We invite you to be a part of our Chicago Read-In and hope you get a chance to stop by and read from your favorite book by an African American Author. Now in its 20th year nationwide, the African American Read-In continues to focus on literacy and black literary culture. The Read-In includes readings of black literature by local and national actors, personalities, poets, orators, community members and community leaders. Nationally, more than two million participants have been documented to date. The highly anticipated 2009 African American Read-In builds on the success of previous years as it continues to promote literacy. The African American Read-In gains popularity each year with a growing audience of literacy advocates and enthusiasts. This event is free and open to the public. Thank you for your support!
