Box 1356 Owings Mills, MD 21117 ryangreene@comcast.net The 2009 Maryland Writer's Conference and Literary Awards - CALL FOR ENTRIES (Baltimore,MD) - The Maryland Writer's Conference and Literary Awards is seeking title entries for our Inaugural Literary Awards for its upcoming Conference on Saturday April 4, 2009 on the campus of Morgan State University in Baltimore, MD. The conference is presented by GreeneHouse Media and will be hosted by Author, Publisher and Talk-Show Host, Ryan C. Greene. The purpose of The Literary Awards is to celebrate and acknowledge those authors and publishers who have excelled in their field throughout the past year. Authors will compete for cash, trophies, other prizes and media recognition. Submitted works will be judged on; originality, story and concept, industry impact, social impact, marketing and packaging and overall excellence. Winners will be awarded in the following categories: • Best Non-Fiction Title- Self-Help/Inspirational • Best Non-Fiction Title- Auto/Biography • Best Non-Fiction Title- Business • Best Fiction Title- Urban Fiction • Best Fiction Title- Erotica • Best Fiction Title- General Fiction • Best Children's Title • Best Book Design • Book of the Year • Author of the Year • Best New Author of the Year • Publisher of the Year • Industry Professional of the Year Submission criteria are as follows: • Submit the following materials (Materials will not be returned): Three (3) copies of each title and three (3) sets of all marketing material for each title Author biography A one paragraph statement describing why your book is the best in its category Working email address and contact phone number • You must indicate a category for each submission. • You can submit more than one title for each category. • You can submit each title for more than one category. • The "Book of the Year" nominees will be comprised of the winners of each individual category and one winner will be selected from that group. • The submission fee for each title and each first category is $50. To submit in multiple categories the fee is $40 per each subsequent category. • Nominees do NOT have to live in Maryland to be nominated. • To submit individuals for non-book categories please include: A Biography explaining what they do in the publishing industry Their website A 500 words or less explanation as to why they were the best in their field in 2008. • All submission materials and payments should be mailed to: GreeneHouse Media Attn: MDWCLiterary Award Submission P.O.
