For all you writers out there, Albedo One, Ireland's premiere magazine of speculative fiction (e.g. SF, fantasy, horror, anything in-between or unclassifiable) is launching the 4th International Aeon Award short fiction contest for 2009. The contest is open to all nationalities and ethnicities, and indeed, the judges are keen to see work from as diverse a pool as possible. The goal of the Award is to promote new writers and writing in the speculative fiction genres. To that end, the grand prize is 1000 euro and publication in Albedo One. Second and third place authors receive 200 and 100 euro respectively, alongside publication in Albedo One. The entry fee is a modest 7 euro, which can be paid easily and securely at the Albedo One website.
