(C. A. A. P. A.) (Washington,DC)- 13th Annual Poetry Extravaganza, A Tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr will take place on January 17, 2009 at Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Library, 901 G St., NW, in Washington, DC. It is presented by Collective Voices in partnership with The Coalition for African Americans in the Performing Arts, Inc. (C. A. A. P. A.). 13th Annual Poetry Extravaganza, A Tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr’ Master ceremonies is Kwame Alexander and will feature “Black Beauty”,“Kanikki J”,“Grandma Slam”, andBrenardo”. Music by: Bro Ah, Doc Powell, Sydney March and Lorenzo SandsSoloist Andraea Keene-Williams. This is a FREE-TO-THE-COMMUNITY celebration with "general seating". Seats are available on a first-come, first served basis. It will start at 1:00pm. Guests are encouraged to meet, greet and support the participating artists during the brief book signing and reception that concludes the celebration in adjoining Exhibit Hall A-2.
