I couldn't care less about Tiger's woes. Let him him experience the scourage of racism.

He brought all of this on himself with his self-absorption and inflated sense of entitlement. Maybe adversity will help him acquire some character.

Yes and no.

You got the black (or nonwhite)/white woman thang. Always poisonous. This picture makes him look like Tupac Shakur.

On the other hand, he brought it all on hisself restricting himself to blond Becky's, trying to be non racial, and portraying himself as Mr. Clean.

This is the same thing that happened to OJ and Michael Jackson, and is apparently what happens to Negroes who try to deny race and crossover--though it will not stop them from trying.

I think this is important. I think this is a thing black men ought to discuss with their sons and young uns.

I also think it is what is happening or about to happen to Obama.

Lord help him if he's seeing a white woman on the side.

Carey you asked what I think of the cover: I liked it. Even as I recognized how it is problematic racially given his current situation I loved how it showed him as an athlete--something that doesn't happen much with golfers. If this had come out when the image was first taken (several years ago, apparently) people probably would not be having the reaction they are having now. Some may have made fun of him: "Oooo, lookit Tiger tryna be all hard and ish" or something. But I don;t think many would have been hurling cries of racism.

But the decision to show the image now given current revelations of his activities was a definite, purposeful decision on the editors' part. And it takes on meanings it may not have before.

Actually, standing alone (not counting the infedelity context) I'd feel similarly about this cover as I did the Serena Williams one we talked about so much here recently. He looks fit, like he is enjoying his body, confident, focused, intense. I think it is a great shot, photographically.

What struck me about this cover was a sudden amazement that Tiger would have the nerve to try and pass himself off as anything other than black.

I once referred to him as "exotic" looking, but a closer scrutiny of his facial features convinced me that this dude don't look like nothin but a brotha. His father's genes seems to have prevailed.

"Lotsa folks are claiming racism. What say you?"

Racism? What racism? A picture of him working out and looking hard? How is that racism? I see Negroes every single day that look like that. Am I missing something here.....?
