White Rappers. Black C&W singers. Music is, indeed, an equal opportunity venue.

This is an old story--going all the way back to Deford Bailey at the Grand Ole Opry. you had Charley Pride, Stoney Edwards (a dude called hisself Boy) plus Ray Charles Al Green and others who did country music.

Plus you had plenty of country musicians who did blues.

Unfortunately except for Aaron Neville and Ray Charles Negroes stink doing Country music. None of them is even as good as Hank Williams.

Give it up.

Former "Hootie and the Blow Fish" front man, Darius Rucker, who is black, recently won best new artist of the year award at the CMA awards show. This was one of 4 honors he won. He later stated that his heart had always had a place for country music.

I read it and I didn't weep, chrishayden, because I don't give any credibility to the rants that are a reflection of nothing more than your erratic opinions.

What distinguishes the C&W genre are its lyrics and the instruments that play the music. Any singer can sing "country" style if they choose.

And all of the black doo-wop groups of the 50s had very audible representations of great bass singing in their harmonic songs.

Get outta, here.
