Sunday is the start of a new week. So I guess I'll call this my Sunday. I've lost my motivation to express my feelings and thoughts through the written word. Frequently (most of the times) my words were inadequate to express my beliefs and/or feelings. For various reasons I am shutting down my blog and my participation at other sites.. I thought I knew why I posted on Internet boards, but upon deep examination, that desire was empty. I am going into retirement. It's possible that I might come back to view an All-Star game, but it's time I devote some time to other adventures. Thanks |

Yeah what happened Carey "desire was empty" do you mean devoid of meaning or significance? If so, who says? |

I hope it doesn't have anything to do with my challenges to your essays, Carey. Surely you would not let opinionated people neutralize your passions. If an old broad like me was that vulnerable, Chrishayden would have chased me away long ago. Is what Thumper said about your balls draggin true??? Hang in there. Be my guest. |

Maybe. Anyway, you owe us an explanation. You done hooked up with a fast young thang and she don't want you spendin' time on the web instead of with her, ain't it? I recall ABM's wife pulled him off....) |

I think Carey done found religion. Praise da lawd. I'd venture to say that when debating, Carey could've refrained from prefacing his contentions with personal digs. When it came to me, he would never just simply disasgree like FK or Yvette or NTFS or Troy. Instead, he would bait me with remarks like my being such an easy mark for his rebuttals, and accuse me of cryin like a lil white girl, and signify that I was an Uncle Tom or a negro sittin on a fence, all the while engaging in thinly-disguised attacks couched in psycho-babbo in an attempt to analyse my personality. This motivated an argumentive person like me to agressively retaliate. Whatever. C'Est la Vie. I apologize to Troy and the board if I played any role in chasing away an old regular who added his flavor to this pop stand. Ciao, Carey. See ya in the funny papers. . |

The line that you attributed to Chrishayden was written by me, Carey. He incorporated it his response to you but, as usual, did not bracket it in quotation marks. I wrote in response to your swan song: "I hope it doesn't have anything to do with my challenges to your essays, Carey. Surely you would not let opinionated people neutralize your passions. If an old broad like me was that vulnerable, Chrishayden would have chased me away long ago. Is what Thumper said about your balls draggin true??? Hang in there. Be my guest." It's typical of our history that you would put your own spin on my words. |

Carey, I am sorry to hear that you will no longer be blogging. I thought you had a good "voice" and had already developed a thriving and loyal commenting community. But yes, it can be taxing, and sometimes it can feel like you are pouring everything out but getting little back in return. Plus, regular blogging--even just once a week--can be very taxing time-wise. Many bloggers take breaks, then return with renewed energy. Maybe even a new focus for their blog. I think you may find it hard to actually "quit." Do not be surprised if, as you are going through your day, you say to yourself "Ooo, I should blog about that!" Then you'll remember you have quit blogging! So...my advice is to just take a hiatus. Unless, you are one of those pro-athlete types who just likes the attention of retiring then coming back! Anyway, bottom line is that you have to do what you have to do. Hope you still drop by here from time to time. |

Yeah Yvettep, it's probably all of the above. But, the bottom line (for me) is "purpose". All money ain't good money, and what makes me feel good, may not be good for me. Other than my own need to run my mouth, I couldn't find a defined reason to continue blogging. I don't know if you've ever read my post "blogging from the cheap seats". A few dropped by and gave reasons why they had blogs. I could relate to some, but none reached my soul. I have/had a passion for blogging but I began to wonder if it was worth the effort. I said I was leaving because I had to make a statement that "I" would honor. If I was going to do the damn thang (blog), I didn't want to half-step. Several individuals have said they've taken breaks. I didn't want to call it a "break", because if that break period wasn't defined, I would be leaving the door open for me to mosey in and out. But having said all of that, I was riding in the car yesterday, and just like you said, an idea hit me and I couldn't wait to tell the world *lol*. But I was never lost for things to talk about. I know some bloggers have a hard time with that, but not me. In all honesty, if my typing skills were better, I could write 2 posts a day. I don't know how good they would be but the thoughts are there. I think I can find something interesting about toilet paper ....know what I mean. So, there it is. ~ Micheal Jordan |

Well, why don't you just cut back and post only when you feel the need to do so? Nothing wrong with expressing your ideas, beliefs and opinions bro. More people probably read what you post then you realize. Think about it..... |
