In this one instance it is too damn bad that Ms. Bighead Palin is not correct about there being a "death panel", because I sho know who they could start with, Carey's cousin Gladney. Hey Thump, since when did being "anti health [care] reform" become synonymous with being "Racist"? |

Hello All, Troy: It became synonymous with racism when the arguments against it makes no damn sense. When those who disrupt public meetings, many having been bussed in, so that no one can have a civil conversation. When the overall tone is not due to health care reform--for the life of me I still can't figure out why anyone would want to fight for the insurance companies, except for those profitting from the insurance companies--but because Obama is black and he is the president. Granted, the health care industry would have been up in arms over any kind of reform anyway. No one has forgotten how Clinton failed when he tried to get health care but there wasn't any of this "public" uproar. The very last time I seen white folks behave like this was during the civil rights movement. Now, Obama has been called racist, Hilter, his adminstration are all nazis. How in the natrual Hell is their a relationship or pattern between Obama and health care reform and Nazi Germany? The only correlation I see is that its the dirtiest thing they can call Obama without using the "N" word. Did this happen when Clinton tried to do health care? The insurance companies are not known for doing good deeds. So why anyone would rush to their defense so that the insurance companies can keep raking in BILLIONS of dollars a year in profits? *eyebrow raised* Doubling premiums, telling you that you HAVE to buy generic pills or they won't cover them, telling you what doctor/specialist you can go to and how many times you can see him, and the cherry on the cake of it: being dropped or not getting treatment because therapy or the procedure wont cure the illness, even though it may help bring comfort to you. Yeah, that's worth going to the streets and acting a damn fool so that this type of thing can keep on going? That's absurd! Then listen to those idiots when they do get to talk. What's the line you hear most often, "I don't like what's happening to MY America", "America aint suppose to be like this". Now, Troy, what's the one major thing that has happened to America that has made it so "different"? So much so that grown, old ass-ted white folks are boo-hooing all on my TV screen. *eyebrow raised* Come on now, lets keep it real or keep it moving. Then, when some of those anti-health care reformers are asked about what they don't like about the proposed health care reform, they can't tell you. I have seen more than a few interviewed and they have not a clue, but they are there protesting, not because health care reform may or may not benefit them, but because Obama is behind it. Take a look at this idiot who decided that he was going to bring a gun to Obama's town hall meeting in NH, http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3036697/vp/32378192#32378192. Baby boy don't have the slightest clue about health care reform nor does he care. But, there he is, him and his pistol. And since in many of their minds, Obama is not the president anyway because he's not a citizen of the US DESPITE having proved that he was last year. All of this is because of what...because the President is a black man and THEY can not take it or get over it. |

I guess my focus is on the executives at the insurance companies who stand to actually benefit. Which is more a function of greed... It is very easy to get the uninformed masses up in arms and to fight for something that is actually counter to their own self interests. They are pawns, disposable. Sure they motiviated by race hatred/fear. But the real fight is against those who profit heavily. The ultra rich and powerful who own the insurance companies, are motivated by nothing else but pure greed. Which is why The Clintons had as much diffculty as Obama. The greedy can use race as a weapon against Obama, with the Clintons (namely Hillary) they used other tactics. They tried to marginalize her because of being just a first lady. In fact she is being marginalized now and she is the scretary of state. |

Hello All, Troy: Sure the executives are the ones who stand to benefit. Yeah, they're greedy. I mean really, they have one hell of a gravy train. I mean to use racism as a to keep the bucks rolling in is despicable, which is one of the reasons I want reform to happen. But, to give you something else to gnaw on, check out this link, http://theplumline.whorunsgov.com/president-obama/on-private-conference-call-tea -party-organizers-say-no-reform-at-all-is-goal/. Health care reform will change America and generations of Americans. Now is not the time to sit by and just watch it. |

It is all about race. They hate a black man being in the white house (when all you have had to point to all your life is that you are better than whole races of people because you are white and that is taken away you have a dangerous, frustrated person who realizes he or she has been HAD--but they will blame it on the black--the kick the cat syndrome) It is no longer a joke when armed people are showing up to the rallies and Congressmen are having to leave with police escorts. For the first time, I believe Obama will not live to complete his term. |

I think too, that Obama made a terrible mistake by trying to attack this health care problem all at once rather than taking an incremental approach. The first problem was to get the 40 million or so Americans who had no coverage covered. Then work on th rest. I would not be surprised if the hands of all the Clintonites in his Administration were behind him jumping in with both feat. This will be a defeat, sho nuff and the end of all his grand plans. Next year is mid term elections--nothing grand will be attempted. If they are disastrous for the Democrats he will be a one term President. I figured he would run aground on something sooner or later--all of them do--but it is a shame for him to go out like this, trying to do something good. To the next black that gets in--start a war. This is the only things that makes Americans happy. |

Here is another view Why Aren't Progressives Disrupting ObamaCare Town Halls? By DAVE LINDORFF Many progressives are getting all bent out of shape over the "brown shirt" rabble organized by health industry PR firms to disrupt the so-called "town meetings" being organized all over the country by Democratic members of Congress. What they are conveniently forgetting is that these are not really "town meetings" at all, at least in the sense of the town meetings I grew up with, and started out covering as a young journalist in Connecticut--that is, meetings called and run democratically, with leaders elected from the floor, open to all residents of a community. These "town meetings" are really nothing but propaganda sessions run by members of Congress who are trying to burnish their fraudulent credentials as public servants, and trying to perpetrate a huge fraud of a health care bill that purports to be a progressive "reform" of the US health care system, but that actually further entrenches the control of that system by the insurance industry, and to a lesser extent, the hospital and drug industry. ObamaCare is to health reform what bank bailouts are to financial system reform, which is to say it is the opposite of what its name implies. The right-wing nuts who cry that ObamaCare is introducing euthanasia for the elderly and infirm, or that it is socialism, are ignorant wackos, to be sure, but they are right about one thing: Americans are about to be royally screwed on health care reform by the president and the Democratic Congress, just as they've been screwed by them on financial system "reform." The appropriate response to this screw-job is the one the right has adopted: shut these sham "town meetings" down, and run the sell-out politicians out of town on a rail, preferably coated in tar and feathers they way the snake-oil salesmen of old used to be handled! This is not about civil discourse. This is about propaganda. The Obama administration and the Democratic Congressional leadership have sold out health care reform for the tainted coin of the medical-industrial industry, and are holding, or trying to hold, these meetings around the country to promote legislation that has essentially been written for them by that industry--legislation that will force everyone to pay for insurance as offered, and priced, by the private insurance industry. What a deal for those companies--a captive market of 300 million people! There will be little or no effort to control prices, and the higher costs will be financed through higher taxes, and through cuts in Medicare benefits. This isn't "reform." It's corruption, pure and simple. Any mention of a system that works--single payer--the system we already have in the form of Medicare for the elderly and disabled, and the system that has proved successful for almost four decades in Canada-- has been systematically blocked and censored out of the discussion. Every effort has been made to bury an excellent bill, HR 676, offered up by Rep. John Conyers (D-MI), which would cover every American by simply expanding Medicare to cover everyone. The only proper response at this point is obstruction, and the more militant and boisterous that obstruction, the better. Instead of opposing the right-wing hecklers at these events, progressives should be making common cause with them. Instead of calling them fascists, we should be working to turn them, by showing them that the enemy is not the left; it is the corporations that own both Democrats and Republicans alike. The only proper approach to the wretched health care legislation currently working its way through Congress at this point is to kill it and start over. At these "town meeting" staged events, Obama and the Democrats need to hear, in no uncertain terms, that we don't want no stinkin' ObamaCare. We want Medicare for all. Chris, I never, for one moment, forgot the grave risk Obama has placed himself and his family. I can guarantee you anyone that is misguided enough to pull a trigger on Obama will not be the "real beneficiary" of Obama's assignation. It will probably be some distruntled fellow misled into believe some Black man is the source all our woes. Again race is a tool to keep folks at each others throats. If it were not race it would be about religion, sex, geographic region, class, something... I hope (feel) Obama will finish his term. I'm pretty certain he will not win again. |

"I can guarantee you anyone that is misguided enough to pull a trigger on Obama will not be the "real beneficiary" of Obama's assignation. It will probably be some distruntled fellow misled into believe some Black man is the source all our woes." I agree. There is a contingency of whites who are still shell shocked and stumbling in disbelief that a black man is the POTUS. You can tell by the comments and groans these people are very bitter. They seriously and deeply feel the America (white) they were once comfortable with -is slipping away. Obama is the poster boy for their deep fears and fantasies of being racially marginalized. With FOX channel, AM talk radio and Rush Limbaugh leading the counter assault, Obama has his hands full. Make no doubts about this. THERE ARE PEOPLE WHO WANT HIM TO FAIL FOR NO OTHER REASON THAN RACE. POLITICS AND IDEOLOGY IS SECONDARY FOR THEM One thing that really irks me is the mindset of black Obama haters. I’m referring to the Project 21 type mindset Negroes (Thomas Sowell, Larry Elders, Rev Jessie L. Peterson, La Shawn Barbra, et al) who are cheering the white conservative guerrilla movement to undermine Obama. Every black man and woman has a stake in the success or failure of this administration. I need not explain why. Now, I’m not suggesting that as black person -you must mindlessly support everything Obama attempts to do. But the vitriolic rancor and high fiving of white Republicans against this man is more than I can digest. I have no problems with honest and fair criticism. I'm also not suggesting that Obama is above criticism or question because he is a black man. I do not support the sacred cow doctrine. But to see disillusioned Negroes gleefully enlisting with paranoiac race haters and embittered white conservatives who are working 24/7 to undermine the public’s confidence in this man, is more than I stomach. "Again race is a tool to keep folks at each others throats. If it were not race it would be about religion, sex, geographic region, class, something... " This is very true. It just happens to be race this time. "I hope (feel) Obama will finish his term. I'm pretty certain he will not win again." Hard to say. It’s still in the first quarter with five minutes left and he’s already down by two touch downs because of this national health care debacle. Time will tell if he can rally and pull out a win……. |

You see, the folks you named above make their money by saying what racist white folks want to say. If Obama is successful then they have all been fools and lied to Black folks when they insisted that the only way we can have anything good happen is to be slaves to the Republicans.) |
