Up at Grand and Natural Bridge in North St. Louis yesterday traffic was heavy going all four directions. Both filling stations were full of cars booming dem beats, sporting fly wheels and rims. All the shorties had their hair and nails done and had on the latest heels. Groups of black motorcyclists roared through. But we SPOSED to be broke. Whazzup? Is it that America got so much cash that it can still flash? Is it that the homies are really makin dat cheese in a down economy? This morning I hear an interview with a local, college educated black guy that lost his 40,000 a year job, his house and is living in a homeless shelter... | ||

Just goes to show that the "NEWS" reports the extraordinary not the every day normalcy. The media provides snapshots of all the people who are in dire straits, but no focus is placed on those who still have income and are stimulating the economy by continuing to purchase. |
