(The public gives him a C--69% approval ratings.) *** Cynique sez: I give him a B-. It's not the occasional big misstep, it's the little gaffes which he should no matter than to commit. (That's the point--those are LITTLE gaffes--a word here, a phrase there. Nobody is going to remember them but rabid Obama haters, who are going to start ducking and hiding if the Democrats do not collapse in 2010-- His trouble will come if there is something BIG hits down the road that upsets all his plans-- I'm betting a terrorist hit. I'm betting they put explosives in one or more of those thousands of cargo containers that enter the country every day-- Don't have to kill nobody. One or more goes up--don't even have to be nuclear--an be a mix of explosive, chemical, biological-- The authorities will have to open every container--slowing down U.S. trade, giving us an economic kick in the balls that will throw us back five years-- | ||

As my Obama watch progresses past the 100 days water mark, I continue to be both vexed and amenable. I know he is picking his way through a labryinth of economic and social and civil chaos and it's obvious his modus operandi is the trial and error method, but the little stuff that Obama doesn't sweat can only be blamed on his tactless blind side. And although his picks for the high profile cabinet members were impressive, his personal staff seem unsophisticated and silly if we can attribute to these advisors the recurring slip-ups in protocol. Obama's press secretary seems expecially sophomoric and VP Joe Biden's loose lips kinda make you wonder how a man who never seems to think before he talks could ever be trusted with so much responsibility. And come on, Michelle. Doing your gardening in a pair of 500-dollar sneakers??? On the plus side, nobody is more subtle than Obama when it comes to doing the pimp walk. |
