My good friend Suyen Mosley (a distant relative of Walter Mosley) and a gorgeous model/actress/filmmaker is also....the founder of a Surfing Club for Black girls here in California. You can visit her website and watch short films Suyen made that feature BLACK (male and female) surfers. http://www.csurfnoir.com It's really narley. In 2007, Suyen made a film about me, but I didn't like it, so we scrapped it (*it'll be released after I'm dead). My singing performance in the film is actually quite impeccable---but I just didn't think the movie did me justice and Suyen agreed. But what I have to say is that Suyen is one of my heroes. You've never seen COOL, stunning beauty until you meet Suyen (who I assume is biracial since I always tell her she is and she looks at me crazy.) LOL! Like me...her parents died when she was a little girl. And that has really bonded us. BIG DIFFERENCE is that she LUVS "Sushi Bars" though and I can't stand Sushi. I would kill to have her voice! She has the prettiest voice I have ever heard in my life! On the phone, she just endears me so much with that voice, because she sounds like a child-woman. "Hi Ko-LAH!...what are the boys doing?" I always fantasize that it's the "daughter" I always wanted calling me and I get so emotional. I just hate her for that voice, because it forces me to be extra nice to her! AND...she's a rich girl. Jetting everywhere. But such an incredibly fascinating person. I just thank God that I have friends like Suyen. Anyway. Check out the Black Surfers! . |
