Troy's Note: I get a lot of email praising or condemning Aaron McGruder. Visitors to the AALBC.com McGruder http://authors.aalbc.com/aaron.htm page often use our feedback form in an effort contact McGruder. McGruder was one of the first authors profiled on AALBC.com. He contacted me asking why he was not included on the AALBC.com Cartonists page http://authors.aalbc.com/comics.htm. This is a page where I link the profiles of syndicated cartoonists. Since McGruder "has blown up" I've long since lost contact with him and I'm unable to forward these emails. Though at this stage of his game I'm sure he would not be interested in reading these emails as he is probably overwhelmed with the commentary that actually reaches his own in box Different emails will be separated by "------" Here are just a few: ------ Dear AALBC: Since I am unable to reach Mr. McGruder personally, I would like to share with you a letter to the editor I submitted to our paper this morning about the slanderous cartoon that appeared in our paper this weekend. I am outraged that the Star-Bulletin allowed the distribution of a slanderous cartoon in this past Sunday's (June 27th) issue. The cartoon in question is "The Boondocks" by Aaron McGruder. The essence of the cartoon is clearly pro-Bush and anti-Kerry, but the worse thing about it is that the cartoonist makes a clearly illogical conclusion based on a faulty premise to make his case for John Kerry supporting terrorism, and claiming that it is a fact! The Star-Bulletin or any other reputable newspaper needs to remain politically neutral during this volatile election year. This sort of propaganda doesn't belong in the comic section where children are among the main readers. Furthermore, the Star-Bulletin and the cartoonist both owe Mr. Kerry and the public an apology for allowing this cartoon to see the light of day. If Mr. McGruder wants to learn the'facts', a fitting punishment for his indiscretion would be for him do mandatory volunteer service for the Kerry campaign. I am part African American myself, and I just saw Fahrenheit 9/11. George W. Bush was put into office at the expense of the African American voters yet Mr. McGruder claims that Mr. Kerry endorses terrorism? What's up with that? ------ This is for Aaron McGruder. First of all, it is too hard to find you. You should put yourself out there. Second, I just saw you on Aaron Brown. What you said about people who are attracted to Bush being uneducated was dead on. I had been saying that (embarrassed that I was) for the past hour in my home. What you said took some nerve and I admire you greatly for doing it. I was brought up in the south and I know just what you mean. And it's a shame it's true. But.... ------ I am a white American male, living in Cozumel Mexico. Aaron McGruder's comic strip "Boondocks", is one of the most honest, cutting-edge, hardcore, pieces of modern work, that I have ever come across and it still retains it's humor. I try to read it every day. His vision of what is and what should be is right on target. If everybody would yell the truth so loudly, maybe enough people would listen and we could make some positive changes. ------ I saw Aaron McGruder, cartoonist and great speaker, on BET todnight and was so impressed to see this black gentleman speak about "image" and the lies being "pushed" by the mass media. I feel so proud to have listened to so much wisdom coming from the deepest feelings of this young and inspiritional speaker. God Bless you! ------ Last night's debate was more entertaining than I expected, but left me a bit bothered. I didn't realize what it was until I heard Aaron McGruder talking with Aaron Brown. When asked what comment he might make McGruder said what bothered him was that George Bush was stupid, and nobody said anything about it. Then I realized that that was precisely whay was bothering me. It wasn't that Bush was stupid--that was obvious. It was the way everybody in the media tiptoed around to avoid saying anything about it. Brown was embarassed and looked around as if to check whether there was anyone of the bosses around, then said something about maybe Bush was really smart but just inarticulate. McGruder tried that on for a second and said that Bush wasn't just inarticulate, he was stupid. And he's right. Inarticulate people can hold ideas, but just can't express them very well. They have trouble with the words. But when Bush was able to read from his crib notes he was quite articulate. It was just when he had to cobble up an answer to something that was different from the question he prepared for that he paused and stumbled. But Brown did inadvertantly provide an answer to the question when he asked how Bush could be stupid when half the country was willing to vote for him. McGruder didn't have a good answer, but that's what the media are afraid of. If they tell the truth about the Emperor's intellect they are going to insult the large part of their audience that seem to believe in Bush, and they don't dare to alienate that part of their audience. This says something about the decadence of our age, but it at least makes me feel better. As long as I know that the media are lying in order to protect their own jobs under the assumption that we are all as stupid as Bush I can understand that kind of corruption and venality. I can even sympsthize with it although I haven't been able to do the analogous thing for myself. It was just the thought of living out the Emperor's New Clothes without any understandable reason that bothered me. But it will be interesting to see if the great american citizenry prefers stupidity to intelligence with whatever bias political corruption can put in the process. When I think about it, McGruder's cartoon, Boondocks, is the only part of the Globe that I miss at all. ------ I am not surprised Aaron McGruder would attack George Bush even though his perhaps closest advisor next to Dick Cheney is an African American woman Conoleeza Rice and Colin Powell is the highest ranking person period in the Diplomatic community and also has the President's ear not simply because of who he is but because of their mutual respect. His attacks on Bill Cosby confuse the heck out of me though. I suppose advocating Education and doing the things we need to do to be successful are a bad thing. Maybe things are worse than I thought they were. ------ Congratulations to Aaron McGruder for winning the McGruder Award! http://www.frontpagemag.com/Articles/ReadArticle.asp?ID=12555 ------ Aaron McGruder is a racist moron! ------

Troy: Glad to know it's useless to use that to contact McGruder. I was going to give him a piece of my mind and I now will not clutter up your box-- I was also going to suggest that he hire some asssitants, but apparently he has done that already. |

Chris guess what you can give Mcgriuder a piece of you mind here very shortly this page will be indexed. A search on Mcgruder will return this page. Most authors "google" themselves (or at least they should) so it is possible McGruder will see this page. What did you actually have to say to him? |
