Why don't you link the books about Black people to Black book sellers, instead of linking them to Amazon.com?

I was disappointed when I finished looking at the page of Dr. Welsing to find "buy at Amazon.com" at the bottom of her biography. If you don't know of any black books sellers on the net that sell those books here are a couple to start off with:

1) http://www.africanamericanimages.com

2) http://www.seaburn.com/blackbooksplus/isis_papers.htm

3) http://www.kisobooks.com/mall/0883781042.asp

Troy's Note:
Every so often I get an email like this. Back in the 90's I got them more frequently than I do nowadays. After hitting the send key. I thought about my tone and realized I should have not have replied immediately...

Below is the reponse to the email (It was written quickly, so forgive typos, etc.):

Hi [Name Omited] I appreciate the time you took to provide feedback. While we don’t have the time to respond to all feedback; your question is important

The quick answer to your question is that AALBC.com would not make any money if we linked to the book sellers that you mentioned.

But I'll explain in a little more detail. As you can imagine it costs money to host, maintain, and develop content for AALBC.com. We are a business, not a charity. Indeed if AALBC.com, like the book sellers you mentioned did not make money we would all be gone after a while.

If fact, I do promote the book sellers you mentioned and many more including Cushcity, http://aalbc.com/writers/cushcity.htm, africanamericanimages http://writers.aalbc.com/african1.htm
and even physical bookstores http://writers.aalbc.com/aabook.htm

This promotion is done for free and almost none of the other web site return the favor. I do it because I think people should know about these businesses.

You must realize however that AALBC.com is a book seller. Why would a bookseller go to another book seller to buy inventory?! Again we would lose money doing this.

I can see why this might be confusing -- because Amazon is a book seller right? From AALBC.com's perspective Amazon functions more like a distributor (where booksellers buy books). People can come to AALBC.com buy books at a very competitive price and AALBC.com earns a commission with absolutely no risk. Given this fact, rarely is it more profitable for even AALBC.com to sell books directly.

Lets take another look at one of your examples africanamericanimages by running the following query (link below):

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&q=site%3Aaalbc.com+African-Ameri can+Images

After you review the hundreds of references to africanamericanimages on AALBC.com. A more appropriate question is why is there not a single reference to AALBC.com on africanamericanimages's web site.

I trust you will take the time to inquire.

Peace,
Troy,
Founder, AALBC.com
