I am not Authentic Black. All African people must come from a tribe. Even in the big cities or immigrants---they all are part of a tribe. I am NOT Authentic, because with an Egyptian father, I have no tribe on his side----only BLACK Egyptians have tribes (Kushaf being a major one). On his side, I am Sunni (Muslim) Egypto (Turkish-Egyptian), meaning a low grade Arab. High grade Arabs are from Middle Eastern, Arabia. The un-mixed REAL Arabs. Now get this.... All Africans must have a "tribal name"--which comes from the MOTHER. But when my father purchased my mother's marriage dowry (she was 14)-----because he was WHITE and Arab......the tribal chief (my grandfather) removed her last name----allowing her to marry as "Jiddi", but not as "Gisis" (her father was the CHIEF of her clan). Without a last name to pass on to me--I was left "illegitimate". And my mother's tribe (which is a RACE, rather than a tribe)---the Oromo---have rejected me because I don't look like them and I am "corrupted" by Black Americans and LOOK Black American. So, I don't have a country (I am banned from ever setting foot in Sudan)...because of Latasha Harlins being murdered and the Korean grocer set free, I will never accept America as my country. My father's people, The Kolbookeks are disgraced by me (as a child, my color----as an adult, my outlandish activism and infamy) and put me up for adoption in the first place. All I have is my Black American family who love me and are the only kin I have. So I am hardly "Authentic". But I am also chosen, by God and circumstance, to share the best way and as truthfully as I know how. I see a major WAR about to start amongst Black people. Sort of like what happened in HATI when the Dark blacks massacred the Creoles to take control of their society....but on a much grander scale. I see and hear it...in the secret gatherings of dark skinned black women. Our true mother who has been excluded. And I see the majority of light skinned people BLIND and UNAWARE that all this is brewing....as they greedily continue to HOG UP all the representation and all the benefits of White Supremacy and claim that they are just as black as the people on the bottom. They are a NEW creation. They are not just as black as Authentic Black people. And they have neither honored or redeemed the BLACKS that they came from...in any way. Which is why they are so loathed. But they just won't listen.

I hope people really read this to understand. My Black American family is comprised of Southerners---and when I first arrived, I fully thought they were West Africans. There are many West Africans in Sudan, and the Black American people of WASHINGTON, D.C.---even the Yellow ones----look West African to me. My family comes from North Carolina, Tennessee, Alabama, Kentucky, Georgia. It is very complicated, but by moving around the planet all my life...amongst different blacks.... I began to see how it is that the Whites DOMINATE and RULE us. They do it by keeping our blood bastardized and by keeping us scattered and disconnected. Look at how the Black American community has now been demolished. You don't even know each other anymore. But think of how close you were, how ONE you were in the 1960's and 1970's. By bringing in BLOOD MIXTURE and having mothers who are not black.....you lose "acculturation". Which breaks down your ability to relate to one another. You lose UNITY. You're too mixed and it's destroying you. Notice that Whites won't accept WHITE unless it's PURE white. And they rule. |

If you were born from the so call "black bloodberry" than you are "authenic". (Also, how can your mother's tribe reject you based on LOOKING Black American? I thought most Sudanese were poor and did not have access to the media, tv, computers etc? So how on earth would they have an idea about HOW Black Americans look- or anything about them in general?) |

I loved that 2nd post by the way! Even though I think most of Black America's problems come from Hip Hop culture which calls for nothing but materialism and consumption. It also calls for "getting over" (even your own people) at all cost! If we could manage to rid ourselves of Rap, or at least the negative/unproductive part of it I think that would be the hardest part of the fight! |

(#1) The OROMO are not Sudanese. They live in Ethiopia, Kenya and Somalia, where my mother was from. (#2) Africa...is crawling with Black Americans. (#3) And I am famous, AA---Sudans' top writer and the highest ranking woman in the SPLA. The South Sudanese, of whom I am no blood relation, call me "Queen Kola". Africans TALK TO EACH OTHER and gossip and pass information. (#4) The ones who rule the OROMO tribe have come to this very board and trashed me and rejected me. I've had abortion. Slept with white men. I write books. I am the highest ranking woman in the SPLA. I challenge men and talk back to men in public. I dress in American clothing. I was RAISED BY Black Americans--not just in the same city, but in the same HOUSE, by them. So whatever I do bad...gets blamed on them. I am aggressive and willful. This is not African female behavior.

All who have "brown, black or Yam skin" and "nappy hair" with African features...are from the BLOODBERRY. Technically, that is what makes you black. But you must have "ALL" the assigners. Not just one or two. STILL, that doesn't make you "Authentic". __________________ You know what's funny. I get email from Japanese and Koreans telling me they know EXACTLY what I'm trying to explain. They come from the same "Feudal" Kingdoms. Their "Standard" for authenticity is very much the same as Africa's. As I stated earlier, to have it broken to you...who is Black and who is African.... and you don't trust the word of an African female then read Chinweizu, Chinua Achebe, Wole Soyinka. These are Award Winning Scholars.

Ok Kola...I may be crossing a line here, but I'm going to do it anyway because I have such tremendous respect for you. You ARE authentic. Your mother was a 14 year old child when your Black African grandfather SOLD her to your father. He could just have easily arranged for her to be married to a man from his own tribe, but he CHOSE not to. That is NOT your fault, and it wasn't your mother's fault. I can only presume that since she didn't talk much, you didn't have much understanding about how she felt about what happened. The people from your tribe technically have no right to reject you for social policies it had already apparently condoned. Authenticity is only partly about genetics; there MUST be a mindset to accompany it. I hope you can come to internalize that...you are NOT alone... |

Yam skin is not lightskin, is it? If not, are you saying there are no authentic lightskinned people according to the African culture you just posted? |

Thanks, BlakLioness ...but AFRICAN people are "heartless". They are just like Europeans---which is another thing I've being trying to get AAs to understand. Black People are not "Morally SUperior" to whites. We are just a different race. And my battle is for our race to return to its own autonomy, glory and healthiness. But I fully acknowledge that all men are the devil, and all men are God. So those people who sold my mother...could care less about her "bastard" offspring. Just as my Egyptian family felt the same way. "Don't bring that black bastard in this house!" Tonya, Yam is considered "lightskin" to Africans. But to your people, it would not be necessarily light. Redd Foxx and Toni Morrison are the best I can do to describe YAM black people....features wise. But Yam People are usually a lot darker than that, but not really brown. Their color is like pumpkin or red clay or dark honey brown. They have very ROUGH complexions. And their populations are very small. They live in the SOUTH towards the South Pole where it's colder (South Africa has the largest number of them). And of course---South Africa was greatly explored by Dutch, Portuguese and other bands of White men and PIRATES during the 1400's, which is probably what happened. But they are not as Deep Black as West Africans.

Kola, It's not so much about me believing in the flawlessness of African people; in my opinion, it's what made us vulnerable to outside exploitation in the first place. However, what happened in your particular case was extremely cruel...it's like deliberately setting someone up. Your grandfather and the other adults in the community had a responsibility to protect your mother....they didn't. That's inexcusable. If I didn't already know your values on the issues, I would say you were authentic by default! Hang on in there, girl! |

Kola, It's ok. I thought you mentioned earlier that you didn't know a great deal about them. Because you were separated from them so early, I misinterpreted that and thought you may WANT to know something about them. I have to apologize because I genuinely did not mean to stir up a sensitive issue...please be aware of that. I didn't mean any harm. By trade I'm a teacher, so I'm always trying to school people...it's a sickness. ;) |

Blaklioness, it's really OK. Please feel free to say anything at all you wish to me. I don't want you to be sensitive with me. I already TRUST YOU implicitly and I know you would not intentionally hurt me. Please just say whatever wish. Naturally---all my life----I've been educating and researching myself about my own various peoples on both continents. When I said I didn't know much about my mother's family....I meant the individual people themselves, not the Oromo as a race. And Oromos are considered a "race", not a tribe, just as Pygmys are a "race". It's my grandfather, the Gisis that I know nothing about for instance.

But I disagree, Blaklioness. Clarence Thomas IS an Authentic Black person, biologically. He's just a traitor. There's a big difference---BECAUSE----a traitor receives a much "harsher" punishment than an outsider or a groupie. So you mustn't discount his authenticity, otherwise we can't prosecute his kind.

Michael Jackson is another AUTHENTIC BLACK who comes from a family of traitors. They joined the JEHAVOH'S WITNESSES so they wouldn't have to go to the same church as the other negroes in Gary, Indian. You can't let them get away with being "white" ....the way that someone like Mariah Carey really and truly has a legitimate claim of not being tied to "Black people". MJ started out authentic:
Beloved in both AFRICA and the UNITED STATES as our "pride and joy". And he betrayed us.
