I've only caught on TV that one, important soundbite of Condi's, where she acknowledged that, had it not been for Mrs. Parks's stance, she probably wouldn't have become secretary of state. Loved it! Condi didn't mince words on that point; she's feeling the loss just as every other Black person is. Because at the end of the day, Condi likely experiences what every other Black in America does. We are reminded by a mysterious coolness in the eyes that we are suspect in retail stores, curiously don't qualify for a promotion, and so on. So I have no doubt that Dr. Rice knows her color. I don't share her political philosphy, but I admire the way the "sistah" works it. |

ANOUNCEMENT: It was Condoleeza Rice who made the "very strong" suggestion that Rosa Parks be the first woman in history placed in the ROTUNDA. A lot of white feminists who already resent Condi's job at the White House are not too happy about it, either.

For decades we've been complaining & bitching about how the "white man" lied to us about our history -- and now we're the ones doing the lying. Who are we to trust? I've lost all faith and all respect. We're no longer black -- we're them. Tonya |

Tonya: I was listening to Democracy Now and they had excerpts of all those lying wonders speaking at Rosa Parks' funeral. I switched it off until they were through. If I ever rate an all star funeral please don't let Jesse, Al, Bill Clinton or no elected official come speak. I understand homegirl was on relief a few years ago. Where were they then? Probably all having an orgy with underage girls. Explain. "and now we're the ones doing all the lying"? |

Does anyone believe Clinton? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Posted: November 4, 2005 1:00 a.m. Eastern © 2005 WorldNetDaily.com Have you ever noticed how some people pretend to honor others, while actually calling attention to their own "good deeds"? Nobody is more proficient at this art form than former President Bill Clinton. No act of heroism, courage or altruism by anyone else can be commemorated without a subtle effort by Clinton to place himself right in the middle of it. He's like the subject of that Carly Simon song, "You're So Vain": "You're where you should be all the time. And when you're not, you're with some underworld spy or the wife of a close friend." A classic example came last week during his remarks at Rosa Parks' funeral. Clinton recalled how he, as a 9-year-old boy, inspired by the woman who refused to sit in the back of the bus, chose to ride in the back of his segregated bus with the black children. "I remember, as if it were yesterday, that fateful day 50 years ago," he said. I was a 9-year-old southern white boy who rode a segregated bus every single day of my life. I sat in the front. Black folk sat in the back. When Rosa showed us that black folks didn't have to sit in the back anymore, two of my friends and I, who strongly approved of what she had done, decided we didn't have to sit in the front anymore. It was just a tiny gesture by three ordinary kids. But that tiny gesture was repeated over and over again millions and millions of times in the hearts and minds of children, their parents, their grandparents, their great grandparents, proving that she did help to set us all free. His remarks evoked warm applause. But does anyone actually believe it? Should anyone actually believe it? Isn't it just one more example of Clinton's uncanny knack of calling attention to himself at the expense of another's achievement? "OK, enough about you Rosa. Let's talk about me." And these "vivid" recollections of Clinton's childhood have proven faulty in the past. You might remember how he clearly remembered the bombing of black churches in Arkansas during his youth. Only problem? There is no historical record to suggest any black church was ever bombed in Arkansas. Do I need to remind Americans that this man was impeached for lying under oath to a grand jury investigating his behavior in a sexual harassment case. The U.S. Senate declined to convict him. But he did lose his license to practice law as a result of the perjury. The truth is a commodity with which Clinton seems to be unfamiliar. Worse, in my opinion, is his shameless self-promotion – always placing himself in the middle of historical events, usurping credit for the achievements of others, retroactively clinging to the coattails of heroes of the past. Jesse Jackson is said to have clumsily dipped his hands in the blood of Martin Luther King Jr. at his assassination site and smeared it on himself in an effort to share in the victimhood. Last week, once again, Clinton showed how one accomplishes this artfully – without getting one's hands dirty. Did Clinton make up the story? Probably. But even if this were the rare exception, when Bill Clinton told the truth, why should anyone believe him? Why does he continue to be invited to make such speeches? Why is it that so many Americans still flock to hear him bloviate about himself while appearing to be honoring others? Why, especially, do black Americans continue to have regard for this man who, according to those closest to him as late as his days as Arkansas governor, was said to hurl racist terms around like any other "good ole boy." I don't believe 9-year-old Bill Clinton rode on the back of the bus. I don't believe anything Bill Clinton says. Have we forgotten? He's a congenital and convicted liar. He marred the solemn occasion of Rosa Parks' funeral. He soiled her memory. He tarnished a proud moment in American history.

Everybody wanted to jump on Rosa Parks' bus after she was laid away in the hearse, including the ubiquitous Oprah, "humbly" proclaiming that if Rosa hadn't decided to sit, she wouldn't be standing. You know, like John the Baptist preceding Jesus Christ. snort. Frankly, I thought all of the ceremonies were a bit much. I'm sure a serene dignified woman like Rosa Parks would've been comfortable with less pomp and more circumstance. |

"But does anyone actually believe it? Should anyone actually believe it?" Of course, not! ...But his very shrewd, and shameless attempt at self-promotion also boistered the idea that Americans can work harder to bridge the gap ( which he cleverly alluded still exists). The way I see it, it's about time we had an evil genius on our side. Yes, it's clear to me that he can't be trusted and my naivete isn't deep enough to believe his gestures are sincere.... But, I'm not looking for love, plus I know how to watch my back; the bottom line is, I just want to win. You better believe, though... those with racist mindsets & those who are not happy about being one-uped by him are determined to have his head served on a cold partisan conservatve platter; which ironically, by the way, explains the premise of the above teed off essay... (LOL). Tonya |

I ain't a conservative and I agree with everything the writer said. If you think this worm is "an evil genius on our side" When and if his wife gets in she will probably be the first American president to drop an A bomb on black folks. A lot of them, from what I have seen, will thank her for it. I think you should confine all your efforts on behalf of black folk to contributing money to worthy causes. |
