I really like that group. It brings back very happy memories with my Uncle Booey and my Black American father. They would pay us a dollar to dance. "WEEEEEE want the funk...gotta hav dat funk...." PARLIAMENT was bad as hell.

That was a good noight for television first the 2 hour special on Einstein, then the P-Funk joint. One of my favorite songs is I Just Wanna Testify I did not realize it was their first hit first recorded in 1967. I did not vecome aware of it until "Up For The Down Stroke"... |

The Parliament was a very original hard core funk group that crashed all barriers of tradition. It's amazing how some groups can be so innovative and challenging. Check 'em out! |

Unfortunately, I came across this post too late to catch the program. Iwas intrigued by these guys since that guitar intro to the '67 version of I Wanna Testify. Only later did I realize that Eddie Hazel was the guitarist{if I had one of them new fangled phones his guitar rave on Maggot Brain would be my ring tone}. Thanks for the link to the film site; at least I can try to keep updated on any dvd or video release. |
