As I'm sure you are all aware, bush's popularity numbers have really taken a beating recently. What sort of rabbit will Rove have dubbya pull out of his hat tonight to get folks back on board with his insanity? If I were a betting man I think that I'd put my money on the tried and true failed assassination attempt. What do you folks think?:-)

"...I'd put my money on the tried and true failed assassination attempt. What do you folks think?"

First you gotta explain to me what a "tried and true failed assasination attempt" is. I think I kind of know what you mean: They gone try some shit, but they gonna fail -- am I right?

Please forgive me, but I really am dense as hell sometimes.

That's funny, Rustang and a fake assassination attempt could possibly work. But that ol trickster Rove is probably behind the emerging strategy introducing the rationale that this hurricane was an act of nature and that George Bush didn't cause it and had no control over it ravaging New Orleans, and that New Orleans officials were just as lax in their response as anybody else. Rove also probably advised Bush to stop shirking his duties and to go on TV and nobly announce to the country that, as America's leader, he now takes full responsibilty for the slow response and the tragic results. Rove could actually be depending on the old back-lash factor, hoping that a haggard American President being so publically dogged out by its black minority is an image that will instinctively stir resentment in the attitude of everyday Americans and cause them to secretly start empathizing with Bush. Obviously if Rove could figure out a way for Dubya to quickly bring the troops home from Iraq and make the gas prices go down, this coup d'tat would be reflected in Bush's ratings, and turn Hurricane Katrina into yesterday's bad weather.

Bingo, Cynique--I vote for this outcome you discuss as well. Also, I think they will be able to find a way to funnel even more money to "homeland security" using this as an example.
