Everybody remembers I'm sure the Atlanta Child Murders cases of years ago. A lot of Black folks I think just could not accept the fact that a Black person might have been responsible for them. "We just don't do things like that" I heard over and over.
I had to admit at the time that I hadn't heard of any sort of cases. On the other hand I did not think them to monstrous for a real warped self hating Black individual to have accomplished.
I thought it looked pretty bad for Wayne Williams, the black man ultimately convicted, when the murders stopped after he was arrested.
There are those that say the murders have gone on and they are just being hushed up, but I haven't seen any evidence of this.
Anyway, they are apparently going to try to reopen the case and re test the evidence.
What will it mean if Wayne Williams is in fact innocent? |
